As the ballerina would say, "That's worth a tip of my tutu."

Decision will probably be based on what China wants.

You were sort of close. Turned out we became the Washington Generals.

Coached at Oklahoma State, Kentucky, Arkansas, and Creighton among others. I am undoubtedly the only person in Nebraska who can say that he saw Eddie play high school ball. He played for tiny Bucklin, Kansas high school against teams my dad coached at Coldwater. RIP

By the way, does anyone have any knowledge about King and McGowens's status for this year?
-
Wow, this preseason report looks even more rosy than....last year's preseason report. Last year I really bought into it but this year ….I will probably do the same.

I remember him playing for the A's. Pretty good left handed hitter with good speed on the bases.

On this way O.T. thread, I'll share a random fact for the day. In some of my aimless wandering across the web I discovered that I once witnessed the person who is now the oldest living Major League player get three hits in a game. Ed Robinson, who will be 100 in December, played first base for the KC A's in the first ML game I ever attended at the old Municipal stadium in KC. on July 27, 1956. It was an extra inning game won , of course, by the Yankees. Yogi Berra and Moose Scowron homered in the game which also featured Nebraskan Bob Cerv. So I've always got that going for me.

Zimmer also managed the Red Sox at one time where he was famously called "the Gerbil" by Bill Lee.

Nothing like starting the morning with a good brouhaha, or should I say donnybrook? The best basketball one I can remember involved Terry Novak and a KU player named Ken Koenigs (I think), although it was more of a slap fight. I also remember Jeff Hornacek starting one, but fail to recall who the NU players were other than Chris Logan. And I believe Andre Smith and Carl McPipe once charged into the stands to take on some OSU fans in Stillwater.

There is no spitting in baseball!

That's why I am confused about the quarter scores being listed at the top of the summary posted above.
-
Did we have four quarters then in college men's games? I must have also disremembered this. And did anyone keep their Senor mustache as a souvenir? And I have totally forgotten Maverick Ahanmisi.
-
A bunch of us met at Barry's before that one as I recall but I thought Senor night was actually a day game. What am I disremembering here?

Beware the Hurley Vendetta!!

Perhaps the most amazing aspect of this signing is that this 6'10" guy seemingly drops out of nowhere into Fred's lap without a word or report of him mentioned by any of the media gurus or on this board which usually mentions anyone remotely interested in NU. This staff certainly plays things close to the vest when they want to. Probably to hide prospects from the Hurleys.

Curmudgeon alert: This year will be a joke, however it is played, so none of the "records" should count as official stats. First, part of the pleasure of baseball is the joy of being allowed to ruminate during the many pauses in the action while letting the pitcher/batter strategies play out and to partake of a refreshment while enjoying the open air. Secondly, if the object is to get the game over with in the least amount of time, just let each pitcher batter encounter be limited to five minutes and then issue an automatic out or walk randomly and move on. When two hours has elapsed, the game is over and the team that is ahead wins. Oh, and any fans caught looking at their cell phones or taking selfies must to submit to a murder- hornet enema.

Pretty hard time to be making any sort of major life decision for anyone. Good luck to him, whatever happens.

Cazzie: Don't forget "Quigley Down Under", one of my favorites. And to save anyone some lost time, avoid my last night's movie at all costs. "The Snowman" was interesting only because it took place in Oslo and Bergan and had the Fassbinder guy who played the evil replicant in the latest Alien movie. It was supposed to be a film noirish serial killer thriller but the plot was so convoluted and the twists so murky that it bordered on gibberish. I challenge anyone who may have seen this movie to explain the so-called plot. If anyone ever travels to Norway, do not shelter in a theater playing this one in a snowstorm because you will freeze to death when you run outside screaming for someone to explain what is going on. And here's my creepy finding this morning. I did my daily Facebook visit, and not only was the appearance "updated" but a big ad for Film Noirs had appeared. Then I checked my gmail and got a non-solicited google map communication showing me all of the places I have visited both locally and regionally during the past year. Big Brother definitely has his eye on me.

Yes, and I always thought it was somewhat remarkable that so many significant movie stars in addition to Lloyd came from Nebraska; i.e. Marlon Brando, Fred Astaire, Henry Fonda, Robert Taylor, Nick Nolte, etc.

Slow morning so a Jimmy-time movie review is in order: Anyone who might have thought "The Dead Don't Die" was funny will like "Living in Oblivion" a 1995 flick about making an Indie flick starring another of my favorite offbeat actors, Steve Buscemi. Some will laugh and some will hate it as per my last review. But it does feature Peter Dinklage's first film role, so stick around to the end of this episodic comedy. And while we are on the Buscemi topic, here are my five favorites 1. Big Fish,2. Escape from LA, 3. The Big Lebowski,4. Fargo, 5. Pulp Fiction. And don't forget his role as "Stick", Robbie Benson's sidekick shooting guard in "One on One" (Okay, I made that one up).

Aha, it's all beginning to fit together now. https://uconnhuskies.com/sports/mens-basketball/roster/tarin-smith/9238

Just for my own information, I vaguely remember we once had a player who came from Bob Sr's St. Anthony program. Does anyone else recall this or is it just another Nyquil hallucination?
-
No, you are all buying into the wrong conspiracy theory. The Hurley family poached Nebraska again. They've all been out to get us since that Bob Hurley Sr. recruit left NU. https://www.omaha.com/sports/college/huskers/loyalty-to-hurleys-leads-nu-assistant-burno-to-take-sun/article_c6abe69e-21a0-11e5-9c64-fbb46140b012.html
