  1. Finally I get to use "flabbergasted" in a sentence. I'm betting KenPom will not mimic my pregame prediction again. I'm not sure whether we might have been watching a group of "pod people" or our real players last night but I'm looking forward to seeing the same group as soon as possible. That was FUN.
  2. Are we talking about the same person?
  3. I would think this is much too early to speculate about what may be going on without further information about why his stats are not up to those of last year when playing for the same team. Does he have a nagging injury, did he have COVID, is the coaching staff different, etc.? I doubt that he has lost his ability to shoot since last year or that the defenses have improved in opposing teams this year. I am not ready to give up on him unless trend continues through the whole year. I'm sure Hoiberg is keeping in touch with him and will know what the situation is.
  4. I enjoyed watching Teddy and wish him the best in the future.
  5. Be sure to put it on tomorrow...in fact, you had better wear it to bed tonight, just to be safe.
  6. Curiouser and curiouser! My list of things I never thought I would see this year just keeps growing. 1. Two players go off for 41 points and their teams losing each game. 2. A team not playing or practicing for almost a month and then playing every other night for almost the next month 3. Sort of enjoying a season in which our team loses so much. Last night's victory just makes me want to follow this team down the next rabbit hole as the season unfolds to see what is going to happen next.
  7. It didn't help that the guy we played Hack-a-Shaque on shot 80% last night. In fact any opponent who has not hit a 3 point shot all year will make at least half a dozen when he plays us. Coaches should begin to start their least confident players against the Huskers this year.
  8. Actually those stats would seem to indicate that if Teddy would have shot more in the second half we would have probably won. Stats can pretty much prove any point one wishes to make. Anyone want to guess how many he will score tonight? I'll guess 12.
  9. I enjoyed watching that game. I do not anticipate Thursday's will provide as much pleasure.
  10. Ho hum, 71-67 Illini on this one.
  11. I thought Teddy had a pretty nice game. That's all I have this morning.
  12. We'll have to shake off the rust now.
  13. They did win the Big Ten men's lacrosse title last year, so there's that.
  14. Seems more like Glass empty;Glass full (although I'm not sure about the semi-colon).
  15. I think we'll win a couple of more games this year. This might be one of them. NU 64 PSU 61
  16. Congrats, Chuck Taylor. He played for Wyandotte in KC which was a powerhouse school in the 50's and 60's. And I learned something today from Handy because I had always thought Kansas was a Lawrence band, but I suppose that is just dust in the wind now. And, atskooc, are you from Kansas or living there now? Again, just wondering since I have some extra time on my hands today. BTW, actor Ed Asner and a contemporary of mine at KU, Steve Renko, who pitched briefly and ineffectively for the Red Sox, also graduated from Wyandotte.
  17. Bonus question: What player from a Kansas high school played and starred on the Kareem NCAA championship teams? I'll wait for a winner since he was not as obscure as Slaughter.
  18. atskooc: If we are leaving the sport, I would prefer the Hanson brothers. They could set some mean picks.
  19. How old is this guy now and how many years of eligibility would he have left? Bonus question for the day: Who is the last Topeka player to start for an NCAA champion. Answer: Fred Slaughter, center on Wooden's 1964 team with Walt Hazzard. He played for Topeka High.
  20. Did he ever see any prison time? Just wondering.
  21. I'm trying to remember the last time brothers started for the Huskers and am coming up empty. Does anyone know?
  22. Boils 74 Husks 64 13 assists
  23. I'm not saying that I don't like Delano or that he doesn't do good things for our team this year. I just think it is a stretch to think an NBA team will waste a high draft pick and plan to teach him to shoot more accurately and play defense in time to be an asset to the team. He appears to be someone who could play overseas and for the Canadian Olympic team at best from what I have observed so far. But I'm just someone sitting on my couch, not someone involved in building an NBA team, so what do I know? I still remember saying on this site that Paul Milsap would never play in the NBA after seeing him in the Ameritas Classic.
