  1. Great points here. Surprised one of you sharp people didn’t mention in particular how outwardly angry Fred was on the sideline with Verge in the last 90 seconds. He TWICE didn’t follow the directions of taking the air out of the ball and both times damn near turned it over (Bryce got a dunk on one). Fred threw his Hands up once and the next time threw his hands up and turned around. I’ve never seen him do that. Also worth pointing out on Verge that Fred kept him out almost 5 minutes in the second half when things were gelling with him on bench. That’s much longer than game one at any point and much longer last night than either Trey or Bryce sat at once. Verge will be in Fred’s doghouse soon if he doesn’t buy in. Finally, as I posted after game one, where’s Andre? I’d like to hear an actual explanation and details of what happened because we surely (as pointed out above) win game one wifh him.
  2. I agree with everyone on Verge. I was less than impressed by him. Very impressed by Bryce - I wasn't discouraged about him at all. In fact I was very encouraged. Trey was a stud as always. Walker needs to find a way to rebound the ball or why is he out there? I need more out of you my man. Wilcher was meh. Wilhelm and Keisei had rough debuts. I wonder if Fred regrets punting a few minutes in the first half with Lakes.
  3. What a disaster this night was. Just utterly pathetic.
  4. A freshman who 1000000% won't be here next year though. We have to win this year to move this program forward. Otherwise our recruiting momentum is going to go bye bye.
  5. It's almost like he was trying to prove a point and say "your way" isn't working or at least that's what I hope because otherwise, that's really really bad.
  6. I will also say I was less than enthused by Hoiberg's coaching in this one. We somehow only used one timeout in the second half? With THAT effort? He seemed to just fold his arms and accept everything without really getting after them. Disappointing
  7. Why is this one hitting me so hard? I'm legit sitting in my chair and can't move or even get up. I literally feel like I've been punched in the gut. This. Sucks.
  8. Very odd that Bryce McGowens took over the game for awhile and then essentially never got the ball in the last few minutes. I would have much preferred he get some looks over Verge.
  9. By the way what is the deal with Eduardo Andre? I admit I'm not following as closely as I used to - is he injured? If not, how does he not see the court in this game with Wilhelm in foul trouble and nobody able to grab a board? Are we just going to let him transfer out and not care? I had super high hopes for him.
  10. Hardest I've been hit by a Husker loss in several years. Not exaggerating. Just a tough, tough loss. Looked disjointed on offense. Lots of me me me. Defensive effort was mediocre outside of Trey and Derrick. Can't get a rebound to save our lives against a middle of the pack Summit League team? Missed 5 free throws in the last minute (if I'm not mistaken). This is the kind of game that puts you into the NIT instead of the NCAA. Absolutely HAVE to beat Creighton and KSU now. Can't lose again at home in the non con and HAVE to pick up one of the two road/neutral site games. I'm not going to let one game ruin my goal and expectation of being in the tournament. But it sure put me in a bad, bad mood. And being Nebraska, our margin of error was already thin............ Plenty of chances and places to pick up big wins, though. Season just getting started. GBR
  11. Makes no sense why he couldn’t just not play but stay with team and cheer them on last 10 days before leaving after season. Obviously way more to it than that. You don’t leave the program when you’re hurt. You sit out. Regardless, best of luck to him. And WHAT. A. WIN!!!
  12. Some fair points. However, to play devils advocate, do you really believe he's considering all 12 of those schools? I don't. There's no way it's more than 6-8. I would bet you agree. Yes, I'm aware he's only visited one on an official (Gonzaga) but he only in theory gets 5 visits anyways. Do you actually believe he's going to go to Auburn, Alabama, Iowa State or Oregon over Kansas, North Carolina, Gonzaga, Kentucky or even Creighton? So why slap the home university in the face? You couldn't keep them on over Auburn, Alabama, Iowa State, or make a Top 13? Not making the Top 5 isn't a snub. But not making the Top 12 is a middle finger.
  13. No, not blaming Williams for Sallis not coming. Sallis was never going to come here, Williams or not. I’m blaming him for the Top 12 snub to throw a middle finger at Nebraska.
  14. My least favorite player in program history. Good riddance. Know he wanted to be closer to home but this landing spot says a lot. The fact that Rice, Texas State, Houston, UT Arlington, UT San Antonio, etc. didn't offer? Yikes.
  15. Count me in the corner of being VERY VERY disappointed with this kid. You put out a Top 12 and don't even put down the main in state university? Two days after going out wearing a Nebraska shirt? Two days after talking to Robin Washut and saying Nebraska is "very much in the hunt"? You put ALABAMA in the Top 12 over Nebraska? There's a 0% chance he goes to Alabama. You put OREGON with Dana Altman and CREIGHTON on the list but not Nebraska. It's a real slap in the face but here's what I'm 99% sure happened. Donovan Williams (one of Hunter's best friends) has had his panties in a bunch since Nebraska cooled off on him, withdrawing the offer because of his injury and not really ever seeing him play (though Matt A DID see him play well before Hoiberg took this job. In February of 2019 when St John's was in Omaha to play Creighton). Did Hoiberg mess up in slow playing/cooling on Williams? Probably so. But ever since then, it's clear Williams has been frustrated and irked by Nebraska especially if you see some of his interaction with Husker fans on social media. I believe Sallis was NEVER going to come here and did his buddy a solid by throwing a middle finger at Nebraska in not including them in the Top 12. Instead of taking the high road, he wanted to send a message. You absolutely don't diss the state university that much unless there's an agenda/message being sent. There's no world where some of those schools (like Alabama) belong on that list over Nebraska or that he'd ever consider them. To do all this just mere days after repping Husker Hoops gear isn't a 17 year old being a 17 year old. It's sending a message. Message received. I wish nothing ill on you Hunter but I hope you regret not coming to Nebraska and wonder "what if" when you're a 7th man at Kansas as an upperclassman and we are in the Sweet 16 where you could have been a legend.
  16. Well not the CBA for sure cuz that be gone. Long live the Omaha Racers!
  17. Yvan is going to be scary good. I believe he will play in the league in 4 years
  18. Dude I LOVE the University of Lincoln. Great school!
  19. I promise I’m not trying to be a jerk and I fully realize this comes off very snarky. But him declaring for the NBA Draft is seriously the funniest thing I’ve heard all year. Like, after all the bad news, I really needed something funny to perk me up. Thank you Cam for the laughs.
  20. Cam Mack is a legend in his own mind.
  21. Surprised and disappointed to hear that about Burke. Love the way he plays the game. I’ve been ready for Mack to leave the program for two months now. He’s big time trouble. Maybe he can shoot a couple arrows while looking at his free throw percentage on the way out.
  22. The talk of Mack being a one and done was always baffling. After today, it’s downright laughable.
  23. I lost $1,500 on the money line. Literally all we had to do was hit 35% at foul line. I am sick. Went from a 4,000 winning trip to winning $800 (parlay involved)
  24. I’m in Vegas in sports book. Go big on Nebraska -2? Mack is good to go again right?
