  1. If it feels like I'm overwhelmed with possibilities and thus asking you to allow me to lay on your couch, unload my thoughts/worries and pray that you'll give me answers - you're right. That's the exactly what I'm asking. Haha. I have made a lifelong commitment to myself that NO MATTER WHAT - I will BE THERE when we win our first NCAA Tournament game. Background on me - I'm a 43 year old radio host in Kansas City. Single, no kids, so I have some financial freedom and the ability with my job to essentially get off work whenever I need to. I have requested the Wed-Fri off the week of the first round in order to travel on Wed and be at whichever site we end up at until Sunday night. I realize there's a 15% chance the Sunday night things could ruin our Round of 32 game but I have enough freedom where I could also call in on Monday if need be. What do I do in preparation? I see many on here have bought tickets in Omaha in case we go there - many have booked some flights that are cancelable to certain sites - I guess I'll just ask a whole bunch of questions below and I'm hoping some people would be kind enough to quote and answer all of these. The more the merrier as I devise my strategy. Tiny more background - I am a ticket snob and want to be on the floor. Behind the baskets if I have to but hopefully on baseline or at worst, in corner. So I know I'm going to have to pay a pretty penny. I may or may not have friends going with me - others don't seem as keen on spending the amount of money this might take. So I might be going solo. Has anyone ever done this? OK - I'm asking your advice if YOU were ME. What would YOUR strategy be on: 1. Do we think the odds of us in Omaha are higher than the 12.5% (1/8) that math dictates? I'm guessing its more like 25-30% we end up there - although maybe they truly don't want to give us a home game. Anyone have any clue on our odds in Omaha? 2. I see good seats in Omaha are roughly $700-$900 per ticket for ALL THREE sessions. Is this already priced way up where I just wait it out and DON'T buy them now? As in - if we don't go there, am I going to have a tough time breaking even on that purchase price? I'm guessing they double from that if we do go there. Thoughts on strategy here? 3. While we're on the topic of tickets and sessions - would you BUY ALL THREE SESSIONS NOW or ONLY buy one and two? (in case we lose) 4. Is the NCAA website (linked to Ticketmaster) the official place to buy them? That's what it's appearing like to me. I'm guessing they aren't face prices and they're all third party listings at this point, correct? 5. Is that the best site to buy them at? 6. How would you handle flights if you were me? Just wait until Selection Sunday? I don't really want to book 5 flights and cancel 4. Seems risky. 7. How would you handle hotels if you were me? I'm guessing these are easier to cancel? Any suggested site for this? 8. Last, how would you handle other friends that "want to go" but "aren't sure yet?" Do I just wing this Selection Sunday or try to buy stuff now? AWWW this is stressful. Any guidance, thoughts, advice, other feedback is appreciated. Dave
  2. Big having butler and wake lose
  3. Touché on NET being massive but it’s not the only metric and we are Nebraska - so they will find any reason to keep us out. Perception still matters. Wisconsin is screwing us
  4. The impressiveness of our Wisconsin win is now almost completely gone. They’ll be #20 on Monday. 5-2 is bare minimum now so tilting
  5. Why do boogie Coleman and Lloyd never even come in to foul? I know Lloyd hasn’t been available in some of these situations but so weird
  6. So many what ifs on the road. Gary at Rutgers. refs at Illinois. Minnesota meltdown. no berry for 30 minutes tonight. sigh
  7. Lawrence was clearly the energy for this team tonight.
  8. I love Gary’s game. Lawrence needs to be back in the lineup pronto. like seeing them fight to the end. disappointing night. Back on the bubble
  9. Come on guys no Berry for 30 of the 40 minutes. Fight back
  10. Our biggest problem on the perimeter defensively is just that we aren’t very athletic.
  11. Especially with Wisconsin pooping the bed and rendering that win a bit less impressive
  12. I would imagine that if we don’t come way back and at least get this within single digits, we are back into the “last 4 in” with zero margin for error left
  13. We need to fight back and at least compete. Don’t get blown out
  14. Nah I just put a big bet on them on the. Moneyline so I’m double angry
  15. The value of our Wisconsin win is rapidly deteriorating. The losers are about to drop one at Michigan
  16. The graphic tees for Keisei, Gary and Mast are siiiccckkkk. Think Gary is my fav.
  17. And PS - if we could keep THREE of those juniors........................................................ I might have a heart attack. Can you imagine if 3 of these guys stay???? We could be REAL REAL REAL good next year.
  18. 1. I spent WAYYYYY too much money on the Nebraska NIL Store site purchasing the sweet artist t-shirts of Juwan, Rienk and Keisei. Feels good to contribute to the athletes a bit and get some sweet Husker Hoops gear. 2. Eli Rice is a guy I'm very high on. I didn't realize until recently that he was homeschooled until he was 15 and only played two years of high school basketball. I think he has a big ceiling provided he dedicates himself to defending and continuing to work on the footwork. I am a bit concerned with his body language as he never seems fired up or happy - but some of that could just be who he is and maybe is explained by his background of being a more private person/not involved in the "rah rah let's go" as much of youth hoops. I hope he is committed here and wants to stay - he's the one guy I REALLY don't want to lose. 3. I have spent way too much time DM'ing with bracketologists on Twitter and it seems like 5 wins locks it up for us from here on out. That means we have no more than one bad loss and/or one more big win (tonight). 21 seems to be the magic number. 20 and I think we are sweating bullets. 4. Would anyone here like to meet up at the NCAA Tournament - no matter where it is? I took Wed-Fri off from work and am going - no matter where - and likely alone because I doubt anyone else will commit the kind of moeny it takes to go if the game is far away from KC (where I live). A question: Which of the juniors will come back next year? I keep hearing we have a lot coming back and I HOPE LIKE HECK we do. But I kind of feel like only one of the following comes back: Rienk Brice CJ Juwan Seems like Rienk and CJ might want to play pro overseas and that Brice might hit the portal. Maybe Gary is the most likely to stay? But that's just my gut. Anyone have a read on this situation or a prediction? And if you could only pick ONE of them to stay, who would it be? I lied - one other question - assuming we make the tournament, how much more NIL money will be available for mens basketball? We need to pay these guys to stay because while we have 10,000 times more money than DePaul for NIL, we are behind a good majority of Power 5 schools in basketball NIL. Does this get remedied? Also, I know some of it is tricky because of US laws and foreign players. Buy some more shirts
  19. I can’t wait to see what great talent Matt A has up his sleeves for next year.
  20. The big loser today is me for driving 6 hours round trip from Kansas City just for this game.
  21. Effort from this five is off the charts. Good to see
  22. This run has happened since Verge went to the bench. The ball is actually moving again.
