  1. You don’t fall ass backwards into 0-11, you EARN it…
  2. Talent: with a *caveat* 1. If you’re not here to win a B1G Title this isn’t the place for you. Our goal should be competing for B1G Titles, if that’s not the goal every year what’s the point? I don’t care about our History or winning “one” Tournament game, those are losers laments. 2. If you don’t understand when you pull on that Red jersey you’re representing everyone from Scottsbluff to Fall City this probably isn’t the place for you either. If those sound like silly antiquated notions so be it.
  3. My math’s bad, I was in the Teacher’s College…
  4. Back when it WAS happening here, Nebraska knocked off Fennis Dembo & his Wyoming team that would end their season in the Sweet Sixteen, 1987. Miles was right about this "Little Engine That Could" attitude that follows this program around like a dark cloud...
  5. Just in time for the “easy” part of our schedule…
  6. Hey that got us to the Foster’s Farms Bowl…!
  7. His B1G record is (not a misprint) 5-46
  8. Here’s a novel idea, what if Bryce/Trey & even Walker decide to return next year because they can’t stand the thought of leaving THEIR University after such a disastrous season? Maybe they want to leave this place in better shape than they found it? Be the group that makes that Sweet Sixteen appearance & saves Fred’s job. Fortune & Fame will always be there but leaving YOUR mark at YOUR Alma Mater is a once in a lifetime chance…
  9. I have a buddy that went to DePaul, big hoops fan, he made it sound like we were getting Mark Aguirre/Terry Cummings rolled into one…
  10. What’s the deal with Edwards, is he sick/hurt, just that BAD or were we sold a complete bill of goods…?
  11. When I saw CSN&Y in ‘03, THEY were their backup band…!
  12. That’s too bad we were REALLY good, Greg Downing & Jerry Shoecraft would run these baseline alley oops that were absolutely *sick*…!!! And along with Handy, Stan Cloudy was the MAN!
  13. That’s very surprising to me, he was a shooting guard on one of the best teams we ever had. Lost to a powerhouse DePaul team with Skip Dillard in the NIT semifinals. It’s an homage to our golden age, plus I’m not clever by half to come up with a moniker that delightful…
  14. Bad Basketball teams rarely have the chance we put ourselves in tonight, but our margin of error is SO thin a poor shot or errant pass leads to 0-11…
  15. https://music.youtube.com/watch?v=ZFJ5Bj_put0&feature=share “Cold & drunk as I can be” about sums it up…
  16. I went with 5 bucks & Powder Dry. When your level of “success” for the Football program is now 6 wins, where does the Basketball team fall within that metric? Evidently somewhere between 0-20 & the NIT. Think of this as a triage unit, we’re hemorrhaging money over on 10th street, PBA will have to wait…
  17. I’m happy to say I’ve headed South out of Grand Marais MN with this blasting on the stereo along the shore of the Big Lake they call Gitche Gumee…
  18. When White Power symbols have moved into the mainstream to the point that our beloved Herbie has to give up his “Okey Doke” we do live in sad times indeed. I myself am not convinced there are Very Fine people on both sides…
  19. Kobe’s last desperate heave brought to mind Jervay Green’s Baseline Alleyoop in Fred year 1 to close out a loss. Trey vs Illinois in a Fred year 2 loss, & NC St, Ohio St this year. We don’t play with a sense of resolve or even with something resembling a “plan” Panic sets in & we’re left hoping against hope that a miracle will take place.
  20. What REALLY hurt us was his 0-10 from the field, especially with no Verge in the lineup, Keisa a non-factor & Edwards still MIA…
  21. Take away the McGowen’s points Bryce/Trey, & we would have lost by 40…
  22. In the last few minutes of a tight game, I know EXACTLY what to expect from this team. Utter chaos, & they delivered again tonight, in Spades
