  1. Taking a quote unquote “lesser” role at a University where you were the head man says a lot about Doc AND this place we call Nebraska...
  2. Also, a lot of Coaches wouldn’t want someone who’s been the head man before in more of a subservient role. That isn’t the case here, nor was it with Miles/Molanari.
  3. Doc's teams always played some hard-a** defense (usually out of necessity) because there wasn't a lot of gifted offensive players. Also, anyone who understands the culture surrounding Husker basketball to the degree Doc does would be a HUGE asset. Then throw in the fact he's had a working relationship with Fred and I'd say it's a No-Brainer...
  4. It was interesting to note in the Startrib piece, that he suspected he was on his way out, or at least on shaky ground the last THREE years, not just two...
  5. The last week of the season (as disappointing as it was) from “No Quit Sunday” thru TCU made me fall in love ? with Nebraska Basketball all over again...
  6. Brings to mind the line from “Office Space” - “Can you tell us what it is, that ya DO”???
  7. If memory serves, weren’t he & Cristopher Neiman both from Germany ?? & played semi-pro ball on “club” teams? And didn’t Standhardinger transfer to Hawaii? His dalliance in the Sculpture Garden clouds my recollection of the facts...
  8. He didn’t he really have a “post” prescence tho...
  9. Is it too late to blame this on Miles?
  10. It should, Lee & I studied under the same Journalism teacher at Superior High...
  11. Anyone else going to the baseball game tonight? If not, I'm taking suggestions as to what questions I might shout out from the stands in regards to the Basketball program or personell...
  12. Agreed, season tickets in the 300 level are SUPER reasonable & any type of increase would not be surprising or a “deal breaker” by any means. I’m just glad I got on the bandwagon before all the Johnny come lately’s want a ride...
  13. I heard the new list of Boehm’s responsibilities this morning, why does “cheerleading” fall under his umbrella? And funny, now that Moos has “his guy” he’s suddenly going to take an interest in the Basketball program? That’s rich...
  14. I’d like to think Terran Petteway was knocking back a few somewhere...
  15. Damn 0.3%...??? Fairness in broadcasting, I had UVA over UCF in one bracket (easily could’ve happened) & Texas Tech over Houston in the other.. That’s why they call it March Madness!
  16. I thought Tim’s schedules were representative the past couple of years, I would imagine Fred will continue that trend if not even pump it up a bit regardless of the roster. One would assume we’d get a last place team in the ACC/Big East challenges, plus a road game in Omaha ( unless Greg’s scared to play us now)
  17. I read the other day that 40% of players transfer from their original school. Never would have guessed it was that high.
  18. I filled out 4 brackets in total. I have TWO left, one with UVA the winner, the other with Texas Tech. I had already cashed in before the games Saturday by virtue of my point totals. I knew the Red Raiders were legit when we played 'em, but I never thought they would manhandle teams in the Dance like they have.
  19. Jervay Green will be attending the Spring game making his 2nd official on-campus visit. Not sure who the other 4-5 players are. Let's hope they are mightily impressed that 90,000 folks will show up just to watch a "practice." Think what they might do for a REAL game? Even a basketball game with a WINNING team on the floor. It almost boggles the mind. But seriously, with that environment and all the BUZZ around Town about the Program and the new hire, Fred will hopefully close on some of these guys!
  20. Glynn might surprise all of us who knows? He might very well be the next Stephon Marbary of Chinese basketball (somewhat tongue in cheek). As for Happ, he couldn’t even go toe to toe with Borchardt & Trueblood during the B1G Tournament. 3x All-Conference and spends MOST of the game on the bench...
  21. Speaking of film Noir and Burt Lancaster wasn’t he in “the Killers”?
  22. Happ’s NBA “career” will be about as illustrious as his fellow Badger Frank Kaminsky...
  23. 4 time NBA Champion & Laker great Jamaal Wilkes comes to mind... Lonzo Ball does not.
  24. Damn you beat me to it.... so I’ll throw out SuperSonic legend, “Downtown” Freddy Brown!
  25. That’s exactly right, I believe the Athletic Dept. kicked down roughly $4 million to the Academic funding of the University last year...
