That was last year... a throw-away season as it turned out to be, the best possible year to tank, as it were. Even the blue-balled eastern Omahans didn't win jack, in the post-season. Let's focus on *next* year being a great year, however that ends up... and flush last season down the drain, as it should be--done & gone--like a B1G turd!
The comment wasn't solely about just last season. Our performance in the Big Ten has consistently been an arms race among the other teams on who improves the most year-over-year. This gets us moving on the right trajectory, but finishing 10th in the Big Ten would still be a big win for us moving forward.
Level-setting historical conference standings, we've struggled the most in the conference we're currently in. Again, I'm all for sunshine-pumping and moving into the next season with some big momentum; I just see progress as sustained and relative performance amongst our peers.
