  1. I got curious about what NU needs to do to get out of the Wednesday games. In short, Pass Penn St. and Wisconsin. Huskers are .5 games behind PSU and 1.5 back of Wisc. NU owns the tiebreaker over the Badgers. PSU owns the tiebreaker vs NU if they end up tied. If all three are tied, NU would be the 10 seed, I believe. Penn St. has 5 games left, 3 on the road, but two of them are at Minnesota and Ohio St. The rest of their schedule is vs. Rutgers, at NW and vs. Maryland. Challenging. Wisconsin has a tougher slate, though 3 of their 5 remaining are at home: vs. Rutgers, vs. Iowa, at Michigan, vs. Purdue, at Minnesota. Also challenging. NU as you all likely know, get three home games in a row vs. Maryland, Minnesota and Michigan St. before finishing at Iowa. If anyone stumbles vs. Minnesota, it could be the difference in playing Wednesday vs. Thursday.
  2. I mean, not only would we have to win out, but Minnesota would too except for the game vs. us, so... More realistic, win two and we should have a decent shot at 10th. Win 3 we'll be sitting pretty for Thursday.
  3. Holy crap! What a win! Didn't see that one coming at all. That may have been the best performance of the season. Don't look now, but with a three game homestead looming, the NIT dream isn't dead yet.
  4. Keisei is shooting .444 (28/63) over the past 9 games.
  5. Except Lat never had a season like CJ did last year…
  6. Which is why he got removed from the starting lineup and had his minutes reduced…
  7. Not really. He was really good last year and earned the opportunity to get an extended opportunity this year.
  8. @Norm Peterson can do the geometric analysis here as I can't see if anyone is standing on their tip toes or if their knees are bent, but it looks to me like the American version is taller by a couple inches.
  9. If you want to, you could include the Illinois game since that's the game Gary got hurt. That would drop the record to 6-5.
  10. No it's not. The stat was about the starting 5 of Griesel, Walker, Gary, Manny and CJ, I believe, but really it's about the first four. Griesel didn't play vs. Indiana but did vs. Minnesota. Then Gary got hurt the next game vs. Illinois, so 6-4 is the stat.
  11. Keisei's has been in double figures six of his last seven games and 20+ in 3 of his last 5. CJ, I get it, but he was really good last year and I expect him to bounce back next year. He's fighting it this year for sure, though.
  12. I think CJ will be a big time bounce back candidate. He was so good down the stretch last year that I have a hard time believing he just lost it. Wilhelm will be interesting, too. There's a raw skill set there that I think can be rally good with some continued molding. PG is interesting. It's a huge need. Do they think they have the answer in house with Ramel and Quaran? How do they want to focus their recruiting priorities? Do they go after a portal PG? A senior? A player with more than a year of eligibility? OR do they try to go after a couple of big time difference makers like Keyonte Johnson? It will be interesting to see how it all goes this summer.
  13. I think he'd be eligible as a sophomore and would have to apply for a medical redshirt after his senior year.
  14. I like what I’m seeing from Lawrence. I think we have something there. Dawson is a dogged rebounder. He’s going to be a PITA for a while. I think Wilhelm has some of that in him, too. If either of them ever find any offense…
  15. But this year is the most recent result. If he'd had this year in year one or two then gone backwards, I think I'd feel differently. But instead, he put together a decent team, though it lacked some depth. To me, it feels like the start of something. I'm curious if Trev feels that way, too.
  16. I think that's the debate. And really, the only ones that know that at this point are Trev and Fred. We'll all find out soon enough, at least for next year.
  17. Perhaps, but Fred's also a smart guy and I believe Trev said Fred presented him a plan about how he wanted to adjust. I'll take him at his work on that. But even if Trev did mandate the changes Fred was the one who had to execute it. I'd argue he did until the injuries hit. If he gets another year, he'll have to build on what happned this year. And probably not what the final record will be but what the program looked like in the middle third of the season.
  18. Kurtis Townsend? Not the worst idea.
  19. Do we know anything about next year's schedule? Other than a trip to KState and CU in Lincoln? Is there anything in line to replace the B1G/ACC challenge?
  20. If Gary and Manny also stay healthy, I think wed be a really good basketball team. Bubble or better.
  21. Has anyone mentioned Mark Turgeon yet? The assistant on a successful B1G team could be appealing to me. I heard/read someone mention one of the Purdue assistants, maybe it was on here, IDK... Brandon Brantley looks interesting.
