  1. Sorry for the confusion last night, guys. Never fear, they'll return for the start of the regular season.
  2. Chatters will begin with regular season games, fyi.
  3. Spring semester begins Jan 13, which would mean Rutgers and Illinois would fall during the semester break as well, though I'd expect the Illinois game to have just about all of the students back for.
  4. The only problem with that is only the students are the ones on break. the other 95% of the crowd will be there regardless of when the game is being played. Thats why this will not change. You don't make a change to affect the small minority. You don't think people other than students leave town on the holidays? The Indiana game on New Year's Eve terrifies me. Fans of big-time programs make their plans around games; they don't attend games based on their plans. Nebraska football is this way. Nebraska basketball should, too. We're not a big time program yet. And student section attendance absolutely suffers in Lincoln when football game days fall on a holiday or long weekend. It's not a secret that the student section often sets the tone for the atmosphere in the building. The fewer conference games you can get in that time frame the better.
  5. Maybe, but someone will, and along with WSU, I think we're as likely as anyone. I'm not thrilled that we don't have any games between this one and the start of conference play. Would have been nice to have a buffer game or two.
  6. I don't believe D1 transfers are allowed to play in the exhibition game the year they redshirt.
  7. When I started posting, my handle was accurate.
  8. Look at the name right above him. How close were we to Turner?
  9. Well, he does bench 300.
  10. I was new to the message board world when I found HHC. It was brand new at the time, I believe. I would lurk at Huskerpedia (at the time) and the Rivals sites and a couple others and the inanity of the football conversations drove me crazy. I wanted nothing to do with it and the conversations for he other sports were...sparse... and being the new guy, I never felt like I was taken seriously, which happens on every established board, including this one from time to time, unfortunately. But with HHC, being brand new, we were all the new guys. And I could talk about something I really was interested in, not just the oppressive football conversations that just went in circles anyway. I only post on one other board and it's a board for my baseball team. I can't remember the last time I went to the boards at Husker Max or Rivals.
  11. Wyn Wiley. http://www.wynwileyphotoblog.com/2012/11/07/basketball/
  12. I really liked Illinois'. Mirrors the design of Assembly Hall. Looks sharp. Really creative, IMO.
  13. I'd be thrilled if we maintained that 11-7 record. Assuming we do have a better non-con, I wouldn't be disappointed if they finished 10-8. I think we're still middle of the pack, at best, in terms of overall talent. Still a couple years away, IMO from being in the top tier in that regard, but there's more than enough, barring injury, to get to that 10 or 11 win mark, which should be enough to get them in. My hope is they'll be undefeated going to Hawaii. FSU is their biggest challenge to that.
  14. Not sure I'd go that far. It'd be nice if someone stepped up on the offensive side, but they made it to the NCAA tournament and finished 4th in the conference without it last year. THIS year, I don't know that we need a ton more production from the PG spot. If we get it, it might take the team to the next level, but they're a tournament team right now without it.
  15. And then I went and formatted them all wrong this morning...Sonuva...
  16. I'm cool with that. I'll clean it up at some point over the next couple of days. Maybe.
  17. Well, someone who has ability to edit posts could go in and edit all the recruit-specific threads and change the thread title to conform to whatever formatting we choose. But I do think consistent formatting would be useful. When you're looking for something in particular on the recruiting board, it's so much easier when all similar information is located in the same place for each thread title. That's been done some, if there's a group preference, we'll go with that, otherwise, I'll probably stick with the Name, Year Position format.
  18. You almost got me with the double negative I think there is a small chance we roll with Parker, Petteway, Shields, Rivers, and Pitchford. Ok, fine. Almost no chance Webster isn't starting. I could totally see Parker starting, and maybe even Smith, I think Webster starts over Rivers, at least to start the season.
  19. I've found putting the name first makes it easier to find if there's a thread already started on a player, especially if there are long periods of time with out any news on his recruitment. Player name, year, position is my preference Juco notation when applicable.
  20. There's only two bigs that will see significant time this season unless Leslee gets back in January or February, you're not going to start the game with both of them on the floor. Also, no chance Webster isn't starting.
  21. Depends on what they did in the non-con. It probably means NU didn't finish strong and I'd fear we'd be facing something similar to what Iowa did last year, which I don't think would sit well with many.
  22. Not sure if it came through on the video, or BTN broadcast, but Coach got plenty of reaction to his statements after the opening. You can hear laughing throughout if you can find just audio of it. He didn't remotely misjudge the room.
  23. Wait, they were watching the game? Does that make them a bunch of Jayskers?
