I'm not sure I'd quite go that far, but you're right in that both those kids had horrible stat lines for this one. Combined for only 25 minutes or so.

I need to feel good about how this thread is going...please provide names/examples. Mikki Moore, Roy Hibbert. Jeff Withey, Charles Oakley, John Starks, Latrell Spewell, Devean George, Scottie Pippin for that matter, Luis Scola, David Robinson and even Kareem Abdul-Jabbar didn't play a minute until his second year. Alright except that last one all of the above had different levels of success but all qualify as late bloomers. Jabbar didn't play his freshman year because the NCAA wouldn't allow it. I'm assuming you knew that...but just checking.

I thought Shields showed a lot more explosion! Whoever is working with him on strength and conditioning needs some praise!

I agree he looked quicker, but I would say that that had less to do with improving his quickness and more to do with improved confidence. Being healthy might be part of it too. Yup.

We'll disagree there. Miles has barked at the officials quite a few times. But he's a coach, that's what they do. He barked at them last year as well. I don't see him complaining any more than he did last year. The Eagles' coach certianly isn't doing much because of the fouls. Well, Miles also complained about the new rules after the scrimmage... A scrimmage that didn't matter for anything other than being a game-situation practice. He said he wasn't sure how a game would even get finished because everyone would foul out...are we seeing anything like that tonight?

Very Frank Solich like comment! LOL. I guess I mean that he doesn't look injured or that he's dragging his leg behind him. There was some concern about him coming into the year. He had one drive down the lane where he drew a foul...looked quick on that one. Need to see more of that.

More than the NBA will see all year.

One thing I notice about the fouls is neither coach is complaining about the calls. They know the rules...they just need to make sure the kids can follow them.
