Nebraska (8-21) vs Ohio St. (18-8) game thread
Dead Dog Alley replied to cipsucks's topic in The Haymarket Hardwood
I'm not sure you can blame this officiating on incompetence... -
Unfortunately he followed that up with 225 Big Macs the following summer, along with they type of salad that you don't eat.

Opening Night with Husker Hoops Set for October 1, 2021
Dead Dog Alley replied to hhcmatt's topic in The Haymarket Hardwood
It didn't make the cut to be included on Rumors, but Oh Daddy and Songbird did...a complete travesty. -
I'm in general agreement. We didn't look to be in a position to land any coach with a big enough reputation to turn the needle with respect to creating any instant fan interest; it would be another complete March-April roster rebuild; it would be another 20 loss season in the new guy's first year. It would not be a great position for someone new to be in. Whether any of that will change by next year, well, who knows.

Well, he was optimistic about the Barry Collier era 4 years into it; so it's not completely out of character. (One of the downsides of keeping the same screen name for 18 years is that some things like that are still remembered.)

Huskers (7-20) vs Hawkeyes (19-8) game thread
Dead Dog Alley replied to cipsucks's topic in The Haymarket Hardwood
He was so ashamed of being in Iowa, that he could only reference it by being East of Omaha. -
Keeping it in different threads might keep the hot seat thread from reaching the length of the Matthew Atewe thread - which, judging by history, would likely mean that nothing happens.

Nebraska (7-18) vs Maryland (11-14) game thread
Dead Dog Alley replied to cipsucks's topic in The Haymarket Hardwood
Hey, it's not every year when your final conference record rhymes with the top one hit wonder song from 1982. -
Nebraska (7-18) vs Maryland (11-14) game thread
Dead Dog Alley replied to cipsucks's topic in The Haymarket Hardwood
This is the Number One team in the country when it comes to giving up and quitting as soon as something bad happens. So they got that going for them, which is nice. -
Shut Up Sipple! - Why Fred Should have at least 5 years
Dead Dog Alley replied to NUdiehard's topic in The Haymarket Hardwood
So, after the season, Fred goes into Trev's office and Trev says, 'I've got some bad news; I really don't know how to break this to you; but, we have to bring you back next year." Fred says, "Is there any way I can talk you out of this?" -
Nebraska (7-18) vs Maryland (11-14) game thread

Admittedly, this is not a great song - but, coming up with "If they knew what you was thinkin they'd throw you out of Lincoln" further shows that John Prine was a genius. -
Nebraska (7-18) vs Maryland (11-14) game thread

Every thread in this genre eventually includes this one, so here goes. An odd fact is that John Prine refused to take any credit for co-writing this with Steve Goodman. -

"have been able to find Nebraska on a map two months before they signed with them" -
Nebraska (7-17) vs Iowa (15-7)*
Dead Dog Alley replied to cipsucks's topic in The Haymarket Hardwood
You'd think a team with "EQUALITY" on their jersey would be playing for a tie. I guess that's just an empty gesture... -
Nebraska (7-17) vs Iowa (15-7)*
Dead Dog Alley replied to cipsucks's topic in The Haymarket Hardwood
Outside of that 42-10 run to end the half, we weren't terrible. -
Nebraska (7-17) vs Iowa (15-7)*
Dead Dog Alley replied to cipsucks's topic in The Haymarket Hardwood
If Iowa gets to 100 everybody gets to have a visit with Lois Feldman in a Metrodome bathroom stall. -

Out of the nine best players on the floor so far today, Nebraska has zero. -
Nebraska (7-17) vs Iowa (15-7)*
Dead Dog Alley replied to cipsucks's topic in The Haymarket Hardwood
A line-up of Kobe Webster, Kesei Tominaga, Trey McGowens, and CJ Wilcher would not be a good one even if Hakeem Olajuwon was playing the 5. -
Maybe if they have a really big hall of fame; he was their seventh leading scorer and fourth leading rebounder that year while they went 18-10. He did lead them in blocks... ## SUMMARY GP-GS Min FG% 3PT% FT% R/G A/G STL BLK PTS/G ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- 20 Ping,Shang.......... 25-20 14.9 .586 .000 .371 3.3 0.4 3 11 5.2
