It's 'see you when you're older' SZN -
The post is a shot at me though obviously a joke I should get over.

It's worth recruiting HS guys because at some point you want to build a more solid base where you replace a couple of guys as opposed to half the team. Also, you can get away with not playing those guys right away and potentially retaining them. Finally, it would help if we recruited better freshman.

We're on the heavy end but Rutgers had 7
-
Looks like we're skipping the trip to Champaign. Either Dainja had better options in Memphis or we had good luck yesterday
-
Not sure but I very much doubt JL is leaving because he thinks he losing minutes to those guys
-
Good and bad news there....

The thing I wonder about this a few weeks later is that I find it odd that a guy who spent a lot of the year jacking up 3pt shots didn't take one against a team that gave up 3s at a higher rate than most anyone in the country. -
I said this in the other thread but you have to wonder either what we have lined up or what we think we have lined up for guys out of the portal because we're a school that all of a sudden has added winning to everything else we have to offer. As much as JL would have a role on this team next season we absolutely have to be recruiting over him. Seems like a guy after his first couple of years here who would look at a smaller school and less NIL in exchange for a situation where he's the priority.
-
Sometimes you can piece together the reason a guy transfers when he gets to his new school and gets interviewed. Here is a good get from the LJS from Amie Just in part because of the repoire she built with CJ
-
You say that like Nebraska hasn't tampered with anyone
-
Mast's teammate at Bradley shot 40% from 3 last season and his assist numbers indicate he'd work in our offense
-
When we were signing guys 2 years ago we were a bad team with a coach who might have been fired had he not beaten two NCAA tourney teams on the road to end the season. A lot of guys wouldn't sign here. How fortunate were we that Sam Griesel wanted to play here more than he wanted to potentially score or win?
-
Maybe he turns out to be a great college player somewhere but currently Lloyd has logged less D1 minutes than Brant Banks
-
Why can't both be true?
-
I have to wonder who we have lined up to come here for JL to leave
-
Oh boy
-
The home team would dictate the date of the game played. Do you think those guys wanted to play when we had a football because they still that mad about losing at home two years ago?

Thank you, merged. Couldn't find it earlier!

Really depends on the cost because I'd still want a project around for our 12/13 scholarship

Here is a more complete evaluation The evaluation of him wasn't wrong, and Omaha certainly isn't lacking effort... but sometimes a player that looks primed to make huge strides in reality may be closer to their ceiling than expected. Xavier Foster is a prime example - over 3 full seasons of playing time, he scored a combined 32 pts in his career. Omaha is a great kid, Iowa State gave him every opportunity and support possible, he maximized his effort... but unfortunately he just didn't continue to see progress towards what you'd like to see in a contributor. He was a unique 5-star because of his athleticism and defense (at the HS level) and hope that he could develop some sort of offensive game at a high-level caliber - or at least net positive. Unfortunately that hasn't happened. This is best for both sides. From Premium Posts: I would be fairly shocked if Omaha is back. He hasn’t developed in practice as much as he needed to (actually very little) and he knows even with a ton of effort he’s still only going to get to what you like to see in a true freshman with 8 mins a game max. His hands aren’t getting any softer, he’s still too slow on defense in practice and his offensive game, which was almost non existent for a Big 12 level player coming in and the thing everybody knew he needed to pray got better, has not developed much at all. He gives a ton of effort, but between his handlers and reality, I don’t see him staying. Some guys show massive 5 star potential, but unfortunately sometimes reality ends up being a much different outcome.

After sifting through a bunch of ISU posts the scuttle I can find is: great athlete, really gets up and down the floor, long arms and can jump, but really struggled with catching and shooting the ball around the basket He's a guy *if* he can put it together becomes a high level NBA player but currently is out the door because he didn't have nearly the game that Milan Momcilovic possessed day one and who knows if he ever will.
