  1. Tomorrow is today
  2. Side effect of Hunter Dickinson transferring in i'd assume
  3. More like oversaturated. He's the lead on football and women's basketball. He shouldn't have to do a podcast about men's basketball simply because there isn't anyone else on staff to do so; He wasn't super prepped on this. I had listened to the podcast prior to it being brought up and that was my impression. I'd treat the whole thing like Highlander 2 and just disregard it.
  4. No. There are other Lee Enterprises owned entities that will print less. That doesn't include the OWH or LJS.
  5. The Journal Star and the World Herald are basically the same thing right now as they're both owned by the same corporation that is slowly killing it.
  6. Last year we had 7 scholarship players who had D1 experience on the roster, 4 of whom played at UNL the prior season. Those players had 17 combined years of D1 experience. This year we have 9 scholarship players who had D1 experience on the roster, 5 of whom played at UNL the prior season. Those players will have 23 combined years of D1 experience. 2022-23 D-1 2023-24 D-1 Griesel, Sam 4 Tominaga, Keisei 2 Walker, Derrick 4 Josiah Allick 4 Bandoumel, E. 3 Gary, Juwan 3 Gary, Juwan 2 Ahron Ulis 3 Tominaga, Keisei 1 Williams, Brice 3 Wilcher, CJ 2 Mast, Rienk 3 Breidenbach, Wilhelm 1 Wilcher, CJ 3 Keita, Blaise 0 Keita, Blaise 1 Kojenets, Oleg 0 Lloyd, Ramel 0 McPherson, Quaran 0 Lawrence, Jamarques 1 Lloyd, Ramel 0 Rice, Eli 0 Dawson, Denim 0 ** OPEN ** 0 Lawrence, Jamarques 0 ** OPEN ** 0
  7. Last day to enter the portal is tomorrow
  8. All of Allick's quotes about transferring have the implication that playing in an offense with Jamal Mashburn Jr and Jalen House sucked.
  9. 6'8" forward from Oklahoma Son of former Okie St star Brian Montonati Likely to be the next Kevin Durant
  10. This was the impetus for Manny Bando
  11. Not exactly shocking but Keisei didn't make this list
  12. I'd agree that Brice is a 3 level scorer and he does seem like he might end up being the scoring focal point if there is one. While he is an exceptional 3pt shooter, he also shoots well from mid-range and gets to the FT line. A statue doesn't take 115 FT attempts. The unfortunate comparison to Griesel sort of distracts from this. We all like Lawrence but when you look at this numbers from last year they're not great though you'd expect them to be better this year. Ramel had a year to prep so he'll be more prepared but I don't see him being anything beyond a complimentary scorer and hope that he is able to fill the distributor/ball handler role.
  13. 6'5" PG out of Texas
  14. To add on to the above, our two best years rebounding were when we could stick Griesel and Banton in at point to supplement this weakness. The other two years were basically watching the other team consistently get second chance buckets. Probably not a coincidence that our two best defensive rebounding seasons (2020,2022) lined up with our 2 best rebounding seasons. If you just averaged the minutes played by our best rebounders vs our sub-par rebounders, we tended to roll out 2.3 good rebounders and 2.7 poor rebounders on any possession. Like I said the more minutes that Williams plays at the 3, the better our numbers will be. If Lloyd has a nose for the ball, this could be our best rebounding team since 2015-16. Finally, while rebounding is important, shooting is more important. If CJ is shooting 40% from 3, we're probably better off rolling out a team like Ulis, Keisei, CJ, Williams, and Mast while just being so-so on the boards.
  15. We'll be an improved rebounding team. If Brice Williams plays a lot at the 3 we're likely to have the best rebounding team of the Hoiberg era on both ends. In terms of rebounding Mast, Allick and Keita should be an improvement over Walker, WB, and Keita at the 5. Gary and Allick should be a slight improvement over Griesel, Gary, and WB. Williams playing instead of CJ is a massive leap in rebounding ability. The numbers indicate this should be easily visible on the court. Limiting possession for the opponent and obtaining more possessions on the offensive end are one of the 4 factors to winning. Keep coming back to how important Ramal Lloyd will be for this season because I have questions about our ability to get to the FT line (we haven't added anyone who has shown that ability) and our ability to hold onto the ball.
  16. Chance to eventually be recruited by Steve Forbes at his next school
  17. 6'8" 230, can shoot from the outside, started on the Finland u18 team. A lot to like here.
  18. One upside with Ulis having 2 years remaining is that if he works out great we have him for another year and if he doesn't work out he can easily grad transfer somewhere else.
  19. One thing thing that occurred when we essentially swapped WB for Allick is that we opened up another scholarship in 2024-25. With our glut of guys on the roster with a 2025 graduation date, that's fairly helpful for recruiting out of HS.
  20. Not a ton of downside to having guys that old. Derrick just finished up at the age of 25.
  21. Looks like his recruiting is heating up with recent offers from Providence, Texas Tech, and Georgetown He's from Finland, currently playing at Western Reserve Academy in Ohio where Oleg spent a year transitioning to the US
  22. This seems about right. With us having 2 scholarships if another high end ball handler was available I'd suspect we'd reach out.
  23. I still wonder if it's McPherson instead of Sam Hoiberg who gets run after Bando went down had QM been healthy. Otherwise, this thread should see action until about 2028 or so since QM has 4 years of eligibility left.
  24. I wouldn't say we're positionless but we're also not beholden to running out a pg-sg-sf-pf-c lineup from 20 years ago.
