  1. 2nd half needs to be Operation: Guard Lenky White Person Shooting Threes. Again.
  2. Gotta remember we're the underdog here and playing a very good team. NW is very similar to Wisconsin, both methodically and in personnel.
  3. Go to the damned rim. Thank you Tai.
  4. They can't stay with us in transition. Gotta get stops and run. Nice job by Tai drawing that foul. He looked pretty deliberate there. More of that please.
  5. Need to push tempo a bit and force our way to the rim in transition.
  6. I don't like our bigs rotation. NW is subbing pardon in when Jordy is sitting. He's a mismatch for Ed and Jacobson. I hope we learned our lesson from last year.
  7. Yeah, Jordy needs to be a Pardon neutralizer, and that's it.
  8. Pardon looks a whole lot smaller than he did last year. Jordy is a huge freaking freshman.
  9. I'd like to see Jordy get some more minutes tonight. But I'm a pretty big Jordy fan.. kind of like I was a big Ed fan last year.
  10. This. Kid has long limbs--his strides are huge. He's given great effort this year and played pretty fast for a true freshman, in my opinion. He's 6'8"--taller than Morrow, our PF, so he looks a little "stridy" when he runs while playing the three. BUT once he puts all that guard skill together with the height he's been blessed with, watch the hell out.
  11. Yup... I keep thinking we look like one of "those" pesky tournament teams right now.
  12. I didn't know there was such a thing as a clutch rebounder until I watched Morrow play this year. The defensive rebound/save he had falling to the floor was spectacular. And, once again, he came up with a huge offensive rebound in the final minutes to help us win the game. I've been high on the kid since watching his high school film--there's just too much physical and mental toughness in his genes to fail. He's everything I thought he'd be. Glad to see it panning out. Great young player among a few great young players. I can't say enough about Jacobson either. A fire has been lit, to say the least, and I think he's starting to settle into his new body. 7pts and 13rbs and 3blks against a very talented frontcourt for Iowa are man's numbers. He's been an absolute warrior in the last two games. We have the best backcourt in the conference.
  13. Gotta keep in mind that Tai is one of the best defenders in the league and Jok still got his. Watson had a bum guarding him and did exactly what he was supposed to do in that situation.
  14. They actually really remind me of us. I thought they looked like a mirror image in many ways--very young and talented with a tough start to the year. I was very impressed by their young bigs, and Jok is a monster. They're going to get some wins in conference play, particularly at home. They looked very good against Michigan.
  15. Peter Jok is going to drop 30 once in awhile in the league. He's gotta be the clear cut B1G POTY. But man... Tai is a first teamer. Glynn is all conference.
  16. Iowa is a very talented team--as talented as we are. They are playing well. That was a much bigger win than I think we might realize. I think they end up with a winning conference record.
  17. HEART HEART HEART HEART. This is what happens when you recruit high character kids. Unreal effort.
  18. I would absolutely love to land this kid. If you look at his sophomore stats, he fits RIGHT IN with our current sophomore class, including a 32 point game. The kid can fill it up. He's very athletic and very skilled at 6'9". If he's coachable, he's a very rare physical talent.
  19. Trimble is no lottery pick. He's the caliber of, say, Sherron Collins was at KU. Might sneak onto an NBA team as a backup in free agency, but definitely not a lottery or first round pick. Very good college player.
  20. I assume Tai or ET guards Jok, no? He's a LONG 6'6" though. Roby might get the call. Really tough matchup there. Beyond the SF, I like us at PG, SG, and whatever position Morrow is playing. Iowa looked very formidable in beating Michigan today. It'll be a major challenge.
  21. This. Miles has been pretty open about his fondness of the Izzo philosophy. Outside of TM, Izzo is my favorite D1 coach. The schedule has paid huge dividends. It's also wild that MSU lost to Northeastern. Pretty parallel seasons going on there so far.
