  1. They lost about 3 this morning actually. Figured they all magically find their way to seton Hall for some reason
  2. Playing multiple styles of defense and being adaptable to your team. I'm going to listen to the full 25 minutes later tonight.
  3. It's strange for sure. Especially because everyone is 95% sold Lat is gone. Maybe they're waiting for it to officially happen to pursue a stretch 4? Other layer to me that's interesting is all the players we've contacted have been off guards.
  4. I like this kid and hope we look his way. He has 3 years of starting experience at a HM level with a tourney appearance in 20-21. Can also shoot as he is at 39% from 3 the last 2 years. And, might be nothing or something, but Armon Gates is following him. https://www.sports-reference.com/cbb/players/al-amir-dawes-1.html
  5. I did the same thing and basically came to the same conclusion. I'm looking at the fact that he was able to get back into college coaching, albeit at mid majors, after all that and has success in doing so
  6. what's the lottery numbers for next week
  7. It's honestly interesting. You see it for spurts with some teams, usually the good ones (probably because they can run it effectively). I think matchup zones are good if you mix it up throughout the game.
  8. Reeves is the top target on the staff, so that makes sense. Thomas is a bit intriguing because he can play the 4 or 5 and has the ability to shoot. I think I'd want to shoot higher than him though personally. Delaire I have no clue what to think about honestly. On paper he looks like a fit, but I don't know if I'm a fan. Also didn't subject myself to any PAC 12 basketball this year, so that plays a factor.
  9. I'm a fan of this honestly. Zone pressure defense can work, just need to fill in the right personnel now. I wonder if they adopt a similar principal to what Michigan did last year, zone before the FT line, and once the ball crosses the FT line switch to man. Just a thought, not expecting it. But he's had a hand in developing some good post defenders (vernado was very good) and if executed properly, his scheme could work.
  10. That's a scenerio that actually makes sense. IF Trey leaves, he could be that ball pressure defender for stretches? Keisei would leave and open up room for a wing scoring transfer, which this team needs. But I think he'll either go to st peters or Georgetown.
  11. So. This one came out of left field. I watched him play Lawrence's school a few months ago, and his defense stood out a ton. Very good at ball pressuring and being disruptive. I think he'll stay on the East Coast though as we have bigger holes than taking another freshman guard.
  12. I have an infatuation with tall guards that can handle, so Lloyd falls right in that wheel house. If Trey doesn't come back, I really wouldn't be upset to see Lloyd start opposite Greisel.
  13. If anyone wants to watch some south Alabama jaguar basketball, looks like a few of their full games are on YouTube. As @hhcmattsaid earlier in here, lots on matchup zone and it looks like an emphasis on ball pressuring the wings. Personnel wise, I think it could work here. Just need to get the right group on the floor. this is assuming Howard is coming of course
  14. Huh. Interesting. That's a bit to unpack
  15. Very bad. Had about a turnover or two a game too. His minutes dropped so much to a point where he didn't play in the bench clearing senior night for WF when walk ons got in. Not advocating for it, but I think we'll make a call. Especially if Trey leaves. I'd prefer a more experienced guard, but looking into the year after Sam leaves, you don't know who the PG is. This way, you at least have 2 options.
  16. We've talked about this and I've come around a bit. I don't think it's a lineup they need to run every game, but in certain situations, I see value in it. Offense for Fred is still at it's best when the floor is spaced for the guards, but if they need a stop against like Edey, I can understand that. But I'm not advocating for starting them together lol. You don't see any team in the big ten starting two bigs who aren't exactly nimble nor can shoot.
  17. Ahem. Have to think we'll be involved
  18. I think this would be a really good target for Fred. https://www.sports-reference.com/cbb/players/tanner-holden-1.html
  19. Armon was revered for his recruiting when coming here, but hasn't had a chance to exhibit that. I wonder if he taps back into his recruiting ties if this is the case? But like you said, a staff wide effort is likely and extremely welcomed at this point. Loesner is getting his feet wet and as long as the AC has some experience recruiting, I think it'll be fine.
  20. Not a great shooter, but has the ability to step out. Could probably fill in at the 4 and be a 5 if necessary, just depends if he can be fluid enough to move with 4s
  21. Can shoot a bit
