The state outline is back!

Might as well add one more thread for the new floor right? -
He actually was worried of losing playing time to the Vooch!
-
The "Husker Fans" tweeting him are pretty classless. Way to go Husker Fan!

Who the hell is Josh Peterson? And why is he tweeting that
BannedAccount replied to tcp's topic in The Haymarket Hardwood
Funny you say that cause when he tweeted last night that Atewe's final two choices were between Auburn and NU and NU had a very good chance, Atewe responded back with "Huh? Quit putting words in my mouth" -
It will change cause they will be forced to recruit a different type of player. It also may help them where before they lost on recruits not wanting to play in a "mid-major" conference and now they will be in a major conference. They can't succeed in the big east recruiting the type of players they have now. And they don't have to worry about winning their conference or tournament anymore. They can probably finish in the top 5-6 and still have a chance to get an at large bid.

I understand the optimism but let's face it. There are right now 6 guys on the team next year who have never played in a game together with a possibility of 8 total. That's a lot to ask. You hear BR and Lee's response and they state the same. Too early to put expectations on this team that hasn't played a game together. Sure 3 of them have practiced and understand what Miles wants but if you think they have spent much time with them in developing skills or making them better you are crazy. The focus has been on the current team we had only and developing them to win games. I'm not too worried about Creighton as of yet. Give it a couple of years when the recruiting classes have filled out then decide. Normally I would say who cares about a team from the Mo Valley that has a less budget and recruits totally different players, but now that they are in the big east it will make it more interesting.
-
Admittedly, that is interesting. The question, though, is whether it's "ironic" or not. You mean like "rain on your wedding day" kind of irony? Or the other kind? That'd be ... yep. (I think it qualifies as "rain on your wedding day" kind of irony. FWIW.) Or a free ride when you already paid!
-
Wow! That's kind of a dick thing to say!

Yeah, I'd like one of them touch-free hand towel dispensers for the bathroom in my man cave. You mean the one that never worked, and yet everytime you went in there game after game you still tried it hoping it would work but it never did? I always hated that. One of the leaking toilets with towels around it and empty liquor bottles in it would be good too right? Or the stained porcelain urinals were always pleasant! Am I being too negative here?

I'd take them PM me with your email, and I'll send you what I got from PBA. Have to pull the trigger by 3/28. IF you promise to be nice to Sek and Ray! Ha

I'd take them

Ray single-handedly kept a team in games that probably would have been the first squad Husker squad to ever lose 20 games without him. Dude played 5-10 minutes more per game that he should have because he had to. Yes, Ray took a lot of low percentage shots....because a lot of time that team needed him to do so even when teams keyed on him. How was it that he was always taking "bad shots" yet Miles never took him out? How is the guy who is ruining the team playing the most minutes in Huskers history? I've argued with both Bogus and Gaskins on their REPEATED bashings of RG on twitter before as well. I guess that makes Gallegos the Dark Knight. It's hard to believe anyone who's watched our team this season can't understand the situation with Ray and his percentage/efficiency numbers. Either they're not watching before bloviating or they have absolutely no idea about the sport at all. That's not true at all. Don't tell me jacking up 271 3's and only getting to the foul line as a 2 guard 44 times is ok based on the situation. Drive and shoot! Drive and dish! You can't say that it's ok that half of those 3's if not more were ill advised 3's that he could have taken at any point in the shot clock.
-
Gaskins isn't going after players, he's states he doesn't think Gallegos should be chucking up bad shots just to chuck when he can get the shots at any time in the shot clock. Let's face it, Gallegos was a 30% 3pt shooter and shot way too much at times. Gaskins has always said he thinks Gallegos should drive more. I agree, he's a 2 guard that shot hardly any free throws at all. It's not like he was a 40%+ shooter that you can have shoot those. And I agree with Miles Davis. Rosenthal may not have said much about a specific player but bashed the team when he could on twitter when things weren't going well which makes no sense from someone who knew and said expectations would be low.
-
Gaskins calls it as he sees it, Rosenthal has no room to talk, he would always rip on NU during games this year when they would get down big. I think he was more snarky and Gaskins was just stating his opinion on what he said. It's ok for BR to do it but not if Gaskins does?

Never seen anything like this before.

Did the doors there close or was it just the roof falling in? Too soon! -
OK, this is probably too soon, but ...
BannedAccount replied to Norm Peterson's topic in The Haymarket Hardwood
I'd be happy with none, not due to pts or wins, but none as in I hate Runza. And don't include Vals either. I'd be happy with a free beer or $ off beer at the PBA, Oh Wait! -
What happened to next year's senior class?
BannedAccount replied to Norm Peterson's topic in The Haymarket Hardwood
yeah becuase they were D2, the same conference I played against in college so thats why I knew they were, but I did in fact just check and they made the jump this year to the Atlantic Sun conference. So definitely a lucky circumstance for E. Jones. Yes, and unlucky he left Nebraska -

Worst class? How is that? Diaz and Jones were some of the most skilled players that Doc ever recruited! How are they doing this season at Nebraska....oh wait thats right none of them are still here. Skilled or not they never lived up to any of their hype and are not here anymore so thats a wasted class when not one of them are here anymore. Last I check Bear was leading his team in scoring and did pretty well last year. It's not their fault Doc didn't use them properly and wouldn't take the leash off. And if they were here this would be a much improved team. I'd hope he was leading a D-2 team in scoring after being a D-1 transfer. Actually it's a division I team -

So what is the classification on the class? Best/Worst on paper? Best/Worst after completion? Best/Worst based on a record? Best/Worst based on individual talent? Best/Worst at time here? I think there is many ways you could go. -

Who do you want to open up PBA with?
BannedAccount replied to seaofred92's topic in The Haymarket Hardwood
Yeah, I want a rematch. And this time with decent officials. Don't remind me of that year, you know if they would have beat the bank and Oregon State that year they probably would have gotten in the tournament. -

Doc was skilled at weaving a compelling tale of woe. You make it sound like he was lying and/or making excuses and I just don't think that was the case. I remember some even blaming Doc for drafting Talley in the first place, that he somehow should have known that the deep thigh bruise that calcified would have been a problem. With the first pick in the NCAA draft, Nebraska and Doc Sadler select Dylan Talley
