anyhoo, go big blue!!! the B1G lives!

i know it was robinson, but why on earth did they just let him dribble out like that??? sheesh. hamilton

Did you see the South region? It was a complete dumpster fire. Creighton could have made it and the highest seeds they would have had to beat were a 9 and 5 I think it was seeded poorly (as I think most of the tourney was) , but I just watch the teams play and not worry about their seeding. this loyola team is playing really, really good ball. Obviously, like Villanova, if those shots don't fall, they can lose. So can Duke. I'll call it now--if they draw FSU, I think they'll win. Michigan a tougher match up for them. Much tougher. But they can shoot right over FSU with those guards.

lol most awkward interview ever! sister jean and round mound on a date?! hahaha. what the hell were they thinking? poor jean. she looked like she was going to pass out when they asked her that.
-
michigan up by one at half and not playing especially well. but that fsu team is pretty physical and tough inside. let's go B1G!
-
That's what people said about Butler when Duke won a cheap championship off of them. sorry, mario, i'm of the school that holds if you're in the final four, you're good. even if it's just a hot streak. and there are no cheap wins in the final four. just my opinion.

i'm gonna take some heat for this, but the more I watch Wagner play, the more I like the guy. Probably because I found out he's a Berliner. I love Berliners. the people, not the donuts...:) Although I love them, too.
-
tell you what: any team that sleeps on loyola and takes them for granted will get beat. that's a legitimately good basketball team and they've got some pretty high end players on it.
-
seriously.this is an obliteration of a pretty good KSU team.

(voiceover) Meadowlark Lemon as you've never seen him before. In, "The Globetrotting Dead". (this film is rated R, for ridiculous)
-
Meadowlark flat on his back. Forever.

I'm fueled by beans, too....apropos of nothing, I just wanted to type that. Dude, everyone knows what "fuels" the rpi, but the tourney has results, too. And those invalidate the assumption of powerful conferences. If you're going to suggest that maybe the really good SEC just had a really bad weekend and was off their game, the inverse could be true about signature games in the non conf. Luck is always a two way street. It's a shitty metric precisely because it repudiates the idea of the season and the idea of growth in team quality. It's a self-reinforcing, collective measurement that can't be justified by final outcomes, even as its internal mechanics are justified by "results" from the non-conference. There are, or there have to be, better measures of *teams*. One interesting thing will be to see the commonality between winning teams through the tournament to see if any conclusions can be drawn there other than one game random chance.
-
i'm not especially aggrieved at the SEC. they took a bunch of teams to the 16. sure, they lost them all, but hey, they made it, so it's not like a total fraud. Like the Pac12. Or, to a lesser extent, the Big East. The ACC's doing well, but without two of their top 3 seeds! I just don't think there's a lot of conclusions that can be drawn about conference strength. But that's what the problem was with the rpi all season right? There are probably about a half dozen teams in the NIt that had a legit shot of getting to the round of 16 in the tourney this season.
-
totally agree. bielein such a good hire for them. i'm glad they finally are getting the kind of game they were playing to close out the conf tourney with. it's been a dicey run for the wolverines up until now.
-
is this the most mis-seeded tourney in recent memory? both the NIT AND the Dance? I can't imagine how the vaunted quadrant system survives this nonsense.
-
when wagner gets uncorked, that team is nasty good. glad they're getting after it and abut to bounce another vaunted SEC team from the tourney.
-
last two games against the NCAA champs and NIT champs would be an absolutely Nebrasketball kind of finish. I'm cheering hard for both of those teams.
-
acc looking pretty good. and this is with two of their top 3 teams getting bounced early. I'm impressed. our old conference also doing well. man, if MSU had found a way to grind it out, we'd be sitting pretty.
-
B1G's doing pretty good for such a suck a&& conference.
-
Again, at least we got bounced by someone going pretty deep. Again.
-
MSU pulls it out. At least we got bounced by someone going pretty deep. Again.
-
Doc probably picked them. He remembers. Oh yes, he remembers.
-
lol at Virginia. Any shame we've ever had just got erased for the entire universe for all time. Thanks Virginia!
-
abolish conferences. start a triple elimination national tourney at the beginning of the year! think of the excitement! If your team really sucks, it'll be a super short season. If they're decent, they could be playing until July! Awesome! (runs away)

Geez, the body wasn't even cold yet. And here comes the rumor express!
