  1. Kevin Ollie was only 6'2". Not sure about his post moves, but he is available.
  2. Well ... Miles' people reached out to my people and hinted that if I was willing to accept an offer, they would make one. I asked would it come with a country club membership? Oh yeah. How about use of a car? Yep, of course. My own private chef and an unlimited supply of beer? Uh, no. Sorry, deal breaker. I think I'll use the overture to get a raise at work, though.
  3. How many Burnos are there in a Hunter?
  4. He hung 18 on us in Lincoln a year ago.
  5. He's doing a smart thing and getting the pros to tell him what they think he needs to work on. From what I've seen of Isaiah, I have no doubt he'll eagerly take it all to heart and work his buns off to improve in those areas and prove it on the floor next year. Hopefully Palmer and Cope do the same (and do it here.)
  6. The New Puritans. Ugh. When he was 16, Zach apparently had sex with a 15-year-old. News reports out today indicate that he's being charged with 2 felonies, including possession of a sexually explicit image of someone his age (under 18) and inducing a 15-year-old to perform a lude act. If convicted, he stands to face whatever prison time plus potentially a lifetime on the sex offender registry. Ridiculous.
  7. Not a chance in hell Roby climbs into the first round this year. He could be a lottery pick next year if he improves in the areas the scouting report will tell him he needs to work on. But there is not a chance in hell he's a first rounder this year. Not a chance in hell. And I like Isaiah a lot and think he has pro potential. But he's got to come back next year and prove he can elevate his game sufficiently. I think he can and I'm guessing he will, and if he does it will redound to our benefit next year. But he's not turning pro this season.
  8. The odd thing about it is that the dates line up with 2018. So, April 10 is, in fact, the day before the spring signing period begins. I wonder what that date was in 2014.
  9. I don't know the answer, but that tweet is more than 2 years old and the link to the ncaa website says it's a new rule to allow coaches an opportunity to recruit replacements for players who choose to leave early. So, I don't know, could be May 30 for all I know, but I'd want a serious explanation for how the website is wrong before I rely on anything. Not only that, but the dates line up with 2018. The link doesn't show the date it was last updated, but the spring signing period begins April 11, 2018, and the ncaa website says the deadline to withdraw is before midnight on April 10, which would be the day before the spring signing period. I hope Shamus is right.
  10. If he did that, according to the link posted above and the quotes taken from that link, Glynn would lose any remaining eligibility. Period. He could not withdraw at a later date. "However, if underclassmen declare between April 11-29, they will relinquish any remaining college eligibility."
  11. This stuff doesn't seem very ambiguous to me. Not sure where people are coming up with any other date than April 10.
  12. More: "The NBA’s deadline for student-athletes to enter the draft is April 29. However, if underclassmen declare between April 11-29, they will relinquish any remaining college eligibility. This timeline is due to a rule adopted by NCAA member schools in 2011. The rule change is designed to help student-athletes make a decision earlier than in the past to focus on either academics or athletics and also give coaches more flexibility with roster-planning and recruiting."
  13. I don't know how you could get more definitive than the link to the NCAA website posted by Huskerpapa upthread: http://www.ncaa.org/remaining-eligible-professional-draft-inquiries "Basketball student-athletes may enter a professional league’s draft once during their college career without jeopardizing their eligibility as long as they are not drafted by a professional team and as long as they declare their intention to resume playing for their college team before the first day of the spring signing period, typically in April. This year, men's basketball student-athletes wishing to retain their eligibility must withdraw from the NBA draft by 11:59 p.m. Tuesday, April 10. This applies only to underclassmen who already have declared for the draft." So, if Palmer or Copeland are out there thinking they have until May 30, someone might want to get ahold of them in the next five or six days and let them know the deadline is coming a lot sooner than that.
  14. I've heard that about @colhusker's back and knees. If things don't work out in the Euro pro leagues, I'd welcome him to come back to the board any time.
  15. How many open spots do we have? And what are we looking for in a big man? A guy who can score? Or a guy who can rebound and defend the post?
  16. So he's a Calvinist? I was told there aren't many of them around anymore.
  17. So, they have to withdraw by midnight on Tuesday April 10. New deadline gives coaches more opportunity to react if a player doesn't withdraw. That's a good thing. Also means we'll know the answer within the next 2 weeks.
  18. For those saying anything about Altman as a potential replacement for Miles (whether it's Moos inquiring or what -- based on the Barfknecht article, that's apparently one of the rumors floating around) answer me this: Altman has a 4-person recruiting class next year that consists of 2 Rivals 5-stars and 2 Rivals 4-stars. Why would he come here if he can recruit like that out there?
  19. I've heard he's leaving Duke, but the list of teams he's looking at is pretty short and they all have bag men that are well-funded.
  20. King Arthur: "Don't let it be forgot that once there was a spot for one brief and shining moment that was known as Camelot." Cip: "Yeah, but your best friend slept with your wife and it knocked you out of the Round Table, so ..."
  21. It's not an issue of your opinion. I've deliberately stayed away from the annual piling on by people saying we need to fire the coach. I've left plenty of room for those who want to bash the staff, the players, the bench, the effort, the scheduling, the recruiting, the conference, whatever, to do that without interruption from me. Let them have their go. And, for those who want to rub everyone's noses in their "realism," there are plenty of threads out there, I'm sure, to point out the downside. I just wanted to carve out one tiny little slice of positivity and point out that, in three games against Final 4 foes, we played 'em even. And less than 5 posts and 2 hours later, someone has to come along and remind us that, well, yeah, but we lost to St. John's and UCF, so ... I'm pretty sure everyone on the board already knew we lost those games; I figured people might not have put together the fact that the aggregate scores of those three games against teams that made the Final 4 was a draw. So, thanks for pissing in my Wheaties. Yeah, whatever.
  22. Nebraska 202 Opponent 202
  23. Yep, Illinois paying a price for greed. Weber had them in the NCAA tourney 6 out of 9 years there, including advancing beyond their opening round game 4 out of 6 trips. He's taken KSU to the dance 4 of 6 seasons and now has them poised for a trip to the Final 4. Meanwhile, Illinois ...
