  1. I agree that I think this was more of a bad game. Here is why. Both Missouri State and Seton Hall provided opportunities for us to fold. One was at home yes, but one was also away from home. We could have folded when things got tough but we didn’t in either of those. Yes I realize that this was our biggest test, yes I realize this was like the first time playing behind, but I don’t think it’s fair to make a judgement after one game. How they respond this Saturday and next Monday will be more telling I think.
  2. I think they could have went either way. I agree that coupled with the Tanners call, it made them worse. Problem is that Palmer now has the stigma around him that he is going to commit offensive fouls and I think refs will continue to not give him the benefit of the doubt. He’s going to have to learn this.
  3. The OP asked about the calls and I responded. I also disagree. We were up big at the time of those calls and they completely switched our mentality. That was my point of the post. It’s ok to say that the refs were bad and killed our mentality while also saying we looked bad. Both can be true. No need to overreact. Take a deep breath and enjoy the weekend. It was one game and judgements can’t be made after one game. Come back refreshed on Saturday but first... you sir have a Happy Thanksgiving.
  4. Woke up this morning. Looked outside. Sun came up and Nebrasketball is 4-1. Not a bad place to be. Does last night hurt? Yup! Did last night suck? Yup! Did we look terrible? Yup! Were there and are there still some overreactions? Yup! I get that some are just pessimistic by nature about Nebrasketball. I get that Nebrasketball hasn’t given you a lot to be optimistic about over the years. Every team has bad nights. Really think it’s too early to start talking like some have though. Have a great Thanksgiving and let’s head to Clemson 5-1 and see what happens huh?
  5. Actually a huge mentality shift early that killed us. Firstly, the two Palmer charges were meh calls. Honestly think that refs are just looking for him to drive and commit the charge. I related it to Nebraska and football penalties earlier this year. The real killer was a possession or two or two later when Tanner was more set than either of the two charge calls on Palmer. They called a block and 1 call on Tanner. Thats why it’s tough to say that refs don’t lose games. Sure, I get that the refs didn’t shoot for us, the refs didn’t play our D, etc. However, the refs really played a killer in our mentality. At this point in the game, we were rolling. And then everything switched. We were less aggressive on D and less aggressive driving. Key to disaster in this game was those two things. I believe the refs played a huge role in why we were less aggressive on both of the two mentioned things above. So yes... while they didn’t lose the game for us, they greatly altered the game that wasn’t in favor of us. That’s basketball though, and we need to find a way to fight through that.
  6. I appreciate all you do. Was personally being sarcastic with Tim(No)Smiles because of that comment. One loss and we’re not a tourney team, lost all of our Quad one chances, etc. Drives me crazy!
  7. There were fewer last year because of how weak the Big 10 was according to the computers. This year should be different. Lot more opportunities
  8. Will help more than an L. It’s not a great win by any means.
  9. Wayyyy too much emphasis is placed on 1-2 games though. So we lose those two and win the rest. Then what? I’m just saying, there’ll be plenty of opportunities for wins in conference this year.
  10. Seton Hall was a decent win. OKST and Creighton will be decent wins if we can get em. Tech would have been a good win on a neutral court. Clemson would classify as a great win.
  11. TTech just beat a top 30-35 team tonight. Just because they beat us doesn’t take away the fact that we’ve looked pretty good as well. I could give a rats what they lost from last year. They’re good again this year. They’ll be fine in the Big 12. Just because we looked bad doesn’t mean they aren’t good.
  12. A road game against a Top 25 team is not a “must” win. Creighton and OKST... maybe... but not Clemson.
  13. 1. Agree. 2. Roby had chances on drives... passed the ball off. 3. We lost the toughness because of the refs. Should have kept going at em, but the refs killed our toughness. 4. Teams are trying to draw charges. Agree they’ve figured that out... but they are not all charges. 5. Disagree. Tech is a good team too. One of the better defenses we will see this year. They went to the Elite 8 and their coach thinks they’ll be better this year. Disagree that they are a middle of the pack Big 12 team. I think they finish top 3-4.
  14. Truth. About 26 games!
  15. Well... 31-0 is out of the question. Dog gone it. However, that’s the only bad thing about tonight. It’s one game. Meh.
  16. Its over in under 4 minutes...
  17. We’re all just mad we have to wait 4 days to take this out on some directional school.
  18. Just another Thanksgiving I’m the Husker Hoops Household! ?
  19. Mom not sure I understand the question. I’m saying that after the first loss and sign of adversity, people tend to go off their rockers here. Were all mad at miles for no composure but around here it’s going to get rough. Already has by some.
  20. Going to be first post of the year night around here. Get your eye rolls ready.
  21. Roby needs to forget the kick out and take it to the hoop.
  22. Ok... I’ll take a step back and take a breath. We’re going to be ok. Win or lose tonight.
  23. He’ll have to deal with Roby haha!
  24. Almost ready to pack it in a bit and make them beat us from deep as well. They have been killing us with the drive so far.
