I was thinking the same. In a game where you needed a bucket, no one else was making one, and no one else was playing defense, why not put someone in that could shoot it.
The announcers on TV said that someone was 1 rebound shy of what Bruno Fernando did in PBA last year. We let some Riverside guy Fernando is. Let that sink in.
The 2nd half was some of the most dispirited (If that’s even a word) basketball that I have seen. There’s rough, then there’s no heart unacceptable. We toed the line tonight.
This is bad. There’s “Rome wasn’t built in a day” games out there... but this shouldn’t ya be been one for us.
How do you attract top talent by losing to UC Riverside by nearly 20? Only reason Riverside doesn’t have more is because they take nearly the full shot clock to shoot it.
This is bad.
I get that coaches, fans, and media have all been saying things like this for a while. It just doesn't seem like something you would tweet on the day of the first game. That's all.
This is actually a kind of cool idea. It would be really cool to see something like a "Conference Tip Off" series where either all "Power 5" conferences play their first game on a day within the first 5 days of the season or you spread them out over the course of the five days.
For Example, this year could have looked something like this.
Tuesday- Pac-12 Conference Games
Wednesday- SEC Conference Games
Thursday- Big 12 Conference Games
Friday- Big 10 Conference Games
Saturday- ACC Conference Games
