If every bump is a foul on us, then that was a foul on Cross' drive. -

Would like to see Fred have the guys backs a little more on bad calls. He doesn't ever seem to be in the refs ear. I think we finally have a coach with some clout that won't get the shaft now either. -

11-48. Wow. -
Cross is going to have to show me a little bit more before I would nominate him a starter, personally. 29% from deep and 37% from the field is rough. Easley and Burke are the only two that have shot worse from three. I know that Fred said at the beginning of the year that he was consistent in practice, but it just hasn't shown in games. Now in addition to that, I am really disappointed at times on D. While he does go for rebounds at times, he tends to play "ole" defense during games and that leads to a lot of easy buckets for the other team. Personally, I think that, if he were playing good enough to start in practice and games, he would be. Yuv isn't providing so much during his starts that we couldn't start Cross. Lastly, I keep thinking back to a few weeks ago when Fred said that our three sitting out beat our starters. While the majority could have been Banton and Stevenson, I think that Walker would probably be a major part of that as the other two are walk-ons. After all of that however, there are times where Cross does something and I am like "wow." I don't think that there isn't a place for him on this team moving forward. I personally think that he will be a solid contributor in the years to come. I'm just not ready to go out on a limb and say that he will be a starter on a team that should add a wealth of talent next year.

Zavier Simpson will be out for our game. Huge for the Big Red.

I think we can all agree that Cam is the most likely to hold his starting position moving into next year. However, who would have thought that our next most likely holdover would have been Thor. That kid is playing like a mad man. He was 3-4 from DEEP to start yesterday. My favorite thing about him is that he isn’t a volume shooter. He doesn’t need 15-20 shots to score 15-20 points. Most of his shots are in rhythm and efficient. He doesn’t force things like a lot of our guys this year. When you combine that with his solid BBall IQ, we have ourselves a player. Not saying Thor is going to start next year or that it’s even likely. I am saying that we could have a 6th man of the year award in Thor though! It’ll also be nice to have him pushing the other guys for PT. One worry that I had earlier this year was that we’d have too many guys just “walking in” to a starting position and PT. With Thor and Charlie, I don’t think that’s the case now.

I could see that. Certainly worth a try. One nice thing about the rest of this season is that we have a opportunity to experiment. I’d love to see Arop get a few minutes, have Charlie continue to get minutes, have Cross start a game or two, and have both Yuv and Cross on the floor together for a bit sometime. -

So, I'm not saying that it isn't worth a shot. However, there are some things that would hold me back on Cross starting as well. 1. Cross tends to play Ole defense at times and then no defense at all during other spurts. He does seem to try and get his nose dirty on rebounds at times, however. 2. When Cross is off on O... he is OFF. That tends to affect other areas. Now, Yuv isn't no offensive guru either, but at least he doesn't shoot it AS much. Granted, he TO's a lot more than Cross. 3. I don't know how much Cross would be able to wear on an opposing big man to start the way that Yuv probably does. Basically, it's a toss up. I'd be ok with trying it for a game or two, but I don't think that it'll make much of a difference either way. -
Roby trade is official.

The way the game was getting called, we probably would have gotten a foul on a shot at the buzzer. -

Alright HHCers... I have a conundrum... After Baker hit the three today, I screamed ahhhh and punched the couch pillow two or three times. Now my 2 YO is going up to the couch screaming ahhh and hitting it. My wife said “we’ll talk later.” I need to know what route to take with this. A. “Honey, that’s what being a Nebrasketball fan is and she’s going to have to learn. Besides, at least I didn’t cuss.” B. “I’m sorry, I need to be better.” C. What’d you got? -
