  2. Sorry. I just posted it in the recruiting board, because there was discussion in another thread on the recruiting board about how many available open scholarships Nebraska had left. My bad.
  3. Which players on the roster hold scholarships?
  4. I agree. I was very impressed with Sai. Probably more impressed with him than with the other two. I think getting all 3 would be ideal. Sai is definitely a more skilled player. Atewe and Smith more of the physical typical PF types. Smith would only take up a spot for 2 seasons, which would allow Miles to really work on recruiting for the 2015 class which would be his first realistic chance of signing a homerun class, because he will have 5-6 open scholarships as well as enough time to really establish relationships with some high caliber recruits.
  5. "Or maybe we just need the help upfront and want a more immediate contributor than relying on Atewe as a true frosh" I agree, but they all fill spots regardless of whether they are a freshman or junior. So they can't take all 3 (Atewe, Tummala, and Smith), unless someone currently filling a spot decides to leave. I personally think it would be good for Nebraska to snag all 3, but that likely would mean someone (Vucetic ?) would have to move on.
  6. I wonder if this means that Nebraska isn't sitting well with either Atewe or Tummala. Or maybe someone currently on the team is leaving in order to make room for another scholarship. Also, does anyone know where there is video of him?
  7. Has there been any talk of possible graduate transfers that could be on Nebraska's radar? Maybe similar to Alex Oriakhi going to Missouri from UCONN.
  8. You don't think he would want to stay in the Big Ten with the success the conference has had during the season and in the NCAA Tourney? You could very well be right, but I would think that Miles would give it another shot, especially since it doesn't seem like he is one of the recruits that won't give Nebrasketball a chance because of the Nebraska winter weather. I mean if he was fine with Minnesota winter weather, then Nebraska would be a step in the warmer direction. The other advantage I could see with Miles is that he has at least some sort of relationship already established with him, because he has recruited him. The new Minnesota coach might not have been in contact with him at all. So there's that I guess. Also, since his other 2 finalists were Tennessee and Auburn, when Foster committed to Minnesota, I'm sure that Tennessee and Auburn continued recruiting other players on their list. Do they even have a spot left for him? Maybe there isn't a spot for him at those schools anymore. I have no idea. Just throwing that out there.
  9. Matthew Atewe‏@MatthewAtewe413m @Tjawtherula hahaha you gotta get that done fam!!
  10. Tai Jack Webster‏@Tjawtherula @MatthewAtewe41 @robinwashut of course I am! Only thing holding me back is this SAT hahaha! tweeted about 15 minutes ago
  11. Minnesota fired Tubby Smith. Do they have anyone that could possibly transfer? Minnesota is about as athletic as it gets. Maybe an athletic PF or C? They also signed Alex Foster 6'8", 200 lbs, Power Forward from Chicago Illinois in their 2013 class. His AAU team is Meanstreets. Alex Foster has an offer from Nebraska. Nebraska 2014 4-Star Forward target Paul White is also with Meanstreets. Might not be a bad idea to get a connection to the AAU team and a connection to Chicago as well. Alex Foster video from Rivals: http://rivals.yahoo.com/video/recruiting-basketball/Rivals-Spotlight-Alex-Foster-1106031? Maybe a guy like a guy like Elliott Eliason from Chadron, NE (6'11", 260 lbs, Center, RS So) Or with Ben Howland being fired at UCLA, any chance Miles could get a transfer from there? I wouldn't expect Nebraska to be able to get a player from UCLA, but then again, I wouldn't have really expected Miles to have been able to snag a transfer from Florida either...
  12. Cool. Thanks for the video. I haven't been able to find much video on Webster. It looks like he could've taken it to the rack and scored every single time if he wanted to. He looked like he was actively trying not to show off. Kind've reminds me of when you are playing with a group of people that have never really played, so you just pass it around to everyone else on the team to avoid being "that guy" that takes it too seriously and just makes everyone else look foolish. His skill level and even physical build are on a completely different level than everyone else on the court. Thanks again for the video.
  13. Cool. I was just curious, because I cant really find many. I think I've only seen one or two of them and there wasn't really much on those, so I didn't know if someone knew where the best place to find them was. I just tried to google. I haven't really been able to find much of Webster either. I thought maybe I wasn't looking in the right place.
  14. Hey could someone please post 1 or 2 of Atewe's most impressive videos if they know where to find them?
  15. Why? Webster signed his LOI. http://rivals.yahoo.com/nebraska/basketball/recruiting/player-Tai-Webster-143233;_ylt=AvJ9NKppSXCrkwoQ490HFDVRs5B4
  16. I can't see Gallegos being removed from the starting lineup. Next year's team is going to need a RS senior veteran. Not to mention we are going to have legitimate point guards that will allow Ray to get wide open looks. I would actually be surprised if Gallegos started next season. I don't think he is as good of a shooter as he is made out to be. I think his point totals have much more to do with the number of shots that he takes, than anything. He is a sheer volume shooter, which takes shots away from other guys on the court. I also think that he is a much too inconsistent shooter to rely on in the starting lineup if you have other options. There are too many times that he just goes completely cold. Him being such an inconsistent shooter doesn't hurt you as much if he is coming off of the bench. If he is having one of his nights where he drills 3-4 3-pointers in a 5 minute stretch, then that gives you a huge boost off of the bench, while your starters are resting. And if he goes 1-12 from the field, it's not as big of a deal, as long as he can lock his man down defensively. While starters need to increase the lead, it is ok if the bench players don't build on the lead, as long as they can maintain the lead, while the starters are on the bench.
  17. I might move some of those around a bit. In order to really play the 2-guard spot, Shields ideally needs to improve his quickness and explosiveness plus work on that jump shot. And probably ball skills. I think Petteway is talked about as more of a slashing 2 with good ball skills and athleticism. You might flip those two. In fact, from what I understand, I think Shields can play the 3 or a stretch 4 and Petteway can swing anywhere from the 2 to the 4. If we get this Tumalla kid, there will be about half a dozen players who would be almost interchangeable at the 2-4 positions (can you say "switch every screen"?) So, the lineup, from what I understand, could look like: PG Parker, Biggs, Webster (in order of arrival) SG Gallegos, Petteway, Hawkins SF Rivers, Shields, Fuller, Petteway, Hawkins PF Tumalla, Rivers, Shields, Fuller, Petteway, Pitchford C/F Pitchford, Vucetic, Atewe(?) That's 13 guys and obviously they don't all play. If we get Tumalla, and if Pitchford has or develops the back-to-the-basket skills that Tumalla has, we could really be in business next year. But most likely the year after that. Yeah you're right. Petteway makes more sense at the SG and Shields more sense at the SF. I would love to see them both on the floor at the same time though.
  18. His film looks very solid. If he came to Nebraska, he could be the most athletic player on the team. Legit Big Ten athleticism in the video that Norm posted this morning, Tummala looks like a freak. Sick athlete, has moves down in the post, he can step out and stroke the 3... ATHLETIC. It would be a steal for Nebraska to land this guy. He could potentially play the PF spot. He's not a bruiser PF, but he is very smooth, long, and has some great moves down there. Fingers crossed on this guy. Could be a solid and very athletic starting line up next season: PG : Webster (6'3") SG: Shields (6'6") SF: Petteway (6'6") PF: Tummala (6'7") C: Pitchford (6'10") Side Note: the video in the first post of this thread looks like it could fit right in with Fresh Prince of Bel-Air basketball scenes. Especially with the background music.
  19. Wow, I think y'all need to get a little Moore Schliep...
  20. What do you guys think of this rotation for Nebraska next season?: STARTERS: PG: Webster 6’3”, 185 lbs SG: Shields 6’6”, 215 lbs SF: Petteway 6’6”, 210 lbs PF: Atewe* 6’9”, 230 lbs C: Pitchford 6’10”, 230 lbs 1st OFF BENCH: PG: Biggs 6’0”, 175 lbs SG: Gallegos 6’2”, 185 lbs SF: Fuller 6’7”, 195 lbs PF: Rivers 6’7”, 195 lbs C: Vucetic 7’1”, 240 lbs *Atewe is obviously not committed to Nebraska, but since all of this is hypothetical anyway, I figured I would add him in there, because it seems that Nebraska has a decent shot to land him. ---This starting rotation would be SICK and would be filled with incredibly long players, which would be just as advantageous on the defensive side of the court as it would be on offense. A defense that starts 6’3”, 6’6”, 6’6”, 6’9”, and 6’10” could cause nightmares for opposing offenses. Also, few teams have SG that is as active rebounding as Shields has been for Nebraska. I think this would be another HUGE advantage for the Huskers defensively by limiting the opportunity of second chance points for opposing offenses. I think Shields would also cause problems for players trying to guard him on the other end of the floor, because he is also much more active in the paint offensively than most SG are. ---In this scenario, I could also see Gallegos starting in place of Webster, because he has more in-game experience, so Webster would then take his spot in the second unit. Either way, this would be a LEGIT 10-man rotation for the Huskers. I could see Nebraska jumping from #10 or #11 in the Big Ten conference this season up to the top half of the Big Ten conference as soon as next season. It’s crazy to think that Nebraska will go from being a team with no depth and a shortage of scholarship players to a team with a legitimate 10-man rotation in the span of only one season. ---I would not be surprised to see Parker transfer after this season. He doesn’t seem to be getting it on either the offensive or defensive side of the ball. I can’t imagine that he would stick around if he didn’t find himself in Nebraska’s top-10 player rotation and with as heavy as this team is at the guard position, there are only so many minutes to go around…Not saying that I want this to happen, but I wouldn’t be surprised.
  21. Again, that's decent highlight tape. It's all from one game so it's not cherry picking the best the kid ever did all season long. It shows that he has some ability. High major ability? I have no idea. But enough there that I would think the kid could get some offers. He needs to learn to put a little bit of jump into his jumper. He doesn't get a lot of elevation on the shot and his release is somewhat low and forward, but it appears he can hit it effectively. He can throw it down with a little more authority than either Nathan Hawkins or his HS teammate who's going to Okie State.Honestly, I wonder what the story is on him not having any offers. Just hidden behind Agau? Could that be it? Keep in mind Deverell Biggs, who now is on our roster, didn't have any offers either. Turns out it was because of academics and not because he wasn't a kid who could play at this level. We all wondered back when Biggs was coming out why he didn't have more offers. Maybe Thurman is in the same boat as Biggs was. Good points. I haven't really heard anything about his academics.
  22. I don't know where to find the complete stat sheets, but I know he averaged 9 points per game as a sophomore. I know that's not amazing, but that was as a sophomore and Agau is obviously more of a focal point of the team than Thurman was/is at this point.
  23. Thanks. He was 6'6" as a sophomore in the video. Now as a junior he is 6'7" and is 15 lbs heavier at 205 lbs. Maybe over the next year he will continue to grow to get to 6'8" or 6'9" and maybe he will put on another 15-20 lbs before college, which would put him at roughly 225-230 lbs as an incoming freshman.
