I am not one of the voters, nor do I know why the voters voted like they did. I can only guess that the following factors could be considered: Doug McDermott; losing only 1 of the top 10 in the rotation of a team that won 29 games; more depth with the two redshirt freshmen; the two freshmen that are battling for a spot on the roster, instead of redshirting, looking like they could be contributors this year; Creighton made the tourney last year; a center who possibly could dominate That is a lot of positives. But who knows, they have not played a game yet this year, along with everybody else. I just want the college basketball season to start. I don't have a favorite college football team, and am tired of hearing about nothing but football on the local sports each night.

Sorry Royal Fan, I was referring to the "Not a great debut being wrong on your first post or two." part of the statement when I said I was OK with it. Meaning, I didn't mind being thought of as being wrong. It is just a game, basketball/sports.

I honestly think that we will beat Creighton this season and prove there is only one basketball program in this state and it's in Lincoln. Nebraska may win the game, anything is possible, but do you actually think this would prove there is only one basketball program in the state? That would be similar to saying that Nebraska should be the pre-season number one this year because they beat Indiana last year. Both programs would benefit, along with high school basketball, if there were two programs in our state.

You're right. Pre-season ratings are a joke. Last pre-season, Creighton was no where near the top 25 and ended up number 21.

It's all a matter of perspective; here's a birds-eye view: Nebraska fans suck....Most, if not all of them , that are in attendance on a Saturday afternoon football game at Memorial Stadium were wearing a blue, Jays shirt on Friday night cheering for the basketball team.

Isn't it still that Nebraska (and Maine) are the only states where the electoral votes can be split. In '08, Obama had one vote from Nebraska and McCain had four.

Glad that he wants to keep playing the Jays. I do hope that he does well and that both programs can grow to respect each other. It could be a pretty good rivalry. (Why did it look like it said -uck it! behind him around the 13:00 mark?)
