While not a proponent of the NET either, it looks like Iowa dropped from 33 to 37 from what I am looking at, Drake jumping a dozen with a win over Bradley blows my mind.

It is sort of like saban begging like a crybaby to get in as they should want the best teams in playoffs. They chose results of football games. I know that metrics generally paint a better picture of who the best teams are. I am just not sure that when selecting teams for a tourney it should matter more than things like, you know, winning basketball games. Metrics consider us “lucky.” I don’t think that should be the job of the selection people. Winning or losing a game by 1 should matter a lot more than a two point margin that is in the same side of the ledger. If they do want to use something that evaluates teams, then let Vegas handle it. They know who is injured and how much it impacts things. Computers cannot pick up on that stuff. They are using flawed metrics to evaluate teams so we don’t get the best results teams or the best teams.

As long as we keep the defensive assistants in tact we have to four capable three point shooters out there damn near all the time. Have been thinking about this a lot of late. Just didn’t have the stones to bring it up out if respect for how hard those two played. I do think bandoumel would have eventually started shooting like had throughout his career. Assuming our results wouldn’t have been a too much better with them, which is pry a safe assumption, we will start next year in a much better place as a result, Especially if Tominaga were to come back.

Drake moves up 12 spots for beating Bradley on a neutral court. We move up 2 for beating Iowa on the road. That is awesome.

Everyone is going to have different perceptions of who is best to play, given the parity in the league. That being said, I think this is about the best path we could realistically ask for. That being said, we can easily lose to Minny. If we survive that, we will play a Maryland team that is better than we are, but doesn't shoot well away from home. You add in the notoriously difficult on college kids shooting backdrop at United Center, I think we can win if we take away the lobs and the pick and roll, roll man. Then Indiana who simply is not great AND has not faced our defense in a long long time. It is different than most Big 10 defenses. Then hopefully NW or Penn St. Neither overwhelm us talent wise. I think we are in the dance at that point with a respectable effort against whoever we play and a non absurd set of results in other tourneys.

Once again, needs to be stated that the NCAA selection folks don't use the NET to put teams in. They use the NET as a way to evaluate the quads. The NIT is much lazier in this regard. They tend to gravitate to the NET among the teams they are left to choose from as they don't put in the work.

Nobody was happier that we beat Iowa than Collier.

I am with you. It was just a bad joke. That type of skill set will be missed for sure. -
Great news on Lloyd. I have been very worried about that. I hope your intel is right as it was on Matt A being a cancer.

So you are saying there could be a Parker Friedrichsen recruitment part 4? If there is, I am going to Tulsa and handle this recruitment once and for all since I went to high school with his dad.

Thanks for posting these. Would give you more upvotes if I could. Easy to watch them after a win. Easy to forget to watch them after a tough loss. We all need to take the time to watch the seniors speak IMO. If we get this turned around, these two are going to be a big part of the reason why. -
They need to bring out the shim shams asap

Stats would suggest shooting better. Looking forward to checking him out next week.

And he can never attempt that ambitious three footer that missed by about 8 feet ever again, that would be great. -

I saw more of ending up against the shot clock than hero ball in the second half. Hoiberg got a couple very clean threes when they started the run and couldn’t make them. Sam was caught up against the shot clock way too much. Wilcher has to play better for us to be effective. Multiple illegal screens also did not help. When we don’t ever get a stop we also have to always face them with defense set up. And the other way around. -

Sometimes you have to give the other team credit. They played one of the best halves of basketball I have ever seen. We weren’t at our best but they had a lot to do with it. Feel bad for the team. -
This thread never is good when San Jose St re enters the conversation

Really like what I saw here. Sort of Baylor Scheirman type traits(trade some length for athletic ability). Elite vision is an unteachable skill to an extent and is huge to have in the Big 10 where scouting reports and rotations are so good. Having a guy that can make passes most cannot can compromise the defense.
-
That is no excuse. If I was in charge if it I would be prepared enough to put it together correctly in ten or 15 minutes. The only mystery is who gets taken from you by the NCAA. With people like Collier on it, it is easier to envision why it is a disaster.

What they kind of advertised what they wanted kind of changed in 2020 or whenever they changed the way it works. They just never really readvertised. it really makes no difference whatsoever who you are playing right now. All that matters is if you are more or less efficient in your performance than what you were scheduled to be going into the game. I really think that the committee doesn’t give much of a crap about what the NET ranking is. It is just a way to sort out your schedule somehow in a way they feel is better than the RPI. NIT on other hand seeems to gravitate to the NET as they don’t put in the time to sort anything out,

Going to require a hitman on Collier to seal that deal.

Good day for our Big 10 tourney seeding prospects. We will pry move to 98 or so in the new NET. F$$K the NET. I am not going to let it take away anymore enjoyment of the effort this team has put forth. EDIT No matter how we perform, Penn St. will have to win a game or we will avoid the dangerous Ohio St game on Wednesday.

Yeah that was my thought before thinking it through for a minute. I should have probably just deleted it instead of editing it.

I already had edited my post saying as much
