Question, do you call the men's team the gentlemen huskers? The women's teams have not been the Lady Huskers since about 1976. They don't like being called the Lady Huskers. I know one local sports reporter was told to quit calling them that. They are Huskers just like all the other teams.

Since she did not feel comfortable here why would a scholarship offer make a difference. I also don't think she is as good as you think. A true freshman shut her down in the second and third quarters. She is a nice summit level player who would of helped us this year, not so much the previous three years.

We did recruit her. She told us no thanks. Said she did not feel comfortable on her visit. And that's with a brother that played football with the Huskers.

We shall see I guess. I have seen a lot of exhibition game heroes. For example check out this little snippet from Hannah Tvrdy's first game. Freshman guard Hannah Tvrdy (Seward, Neb.) was equally as impressive, earning a start in her first career game and scoring 14 points to lead the Husker backcourt. She hit 6-of-9 shots from the field, including a three-pointer, while adding four rebounds, a steal and two assists without a turnover. I hope all the newcomers have great success. You need to give the others a chance. And I would not be disappointed in the returners that you would not name, but we all know who you are talking about. They are learning a new system just like the freshmen. We almost lost to a D-II school. That is not good. Everyone on the team has a lot of work to do. Five games in eleven days starting Saturday. Four games in the WNIT and Omaha who is looking pretty salty this year. We could easily lose every one of them. Hope not though.

Speaking of coverage of the team, the Omaha paper has not had a thing on the team. There has been two or three Creighton stories but nothing on the Huskers. The World-Herald used to be pretty even on their coverage.

RPI is a total bunch of crap. UCONN being number three proves it. They only beat everyone they played by about 40 points or more. If that does not get you number one what does. The SEC & ACC in baseball proved how big a joke it is. Some basketball teams play the RPI for all it is worth and average teams get rewarded for it. See KSU last year. A better system has to be available.
