A few comments. I think Alicia Ostrander is planning on playing next year. Why else is she hanging with the team. As stated previously, I asked her point blank a month or so ago. She answered maybe with a coy smile. I think Darrian Washington stays. She is best friends with Nat. We said the same things about Ester a year ago, but she hung in there and got her chance this year. Nat can play point guard just fine, but I feel she is to valuable to play there. With Doyle coming in and having Jazz, Woody and Ester as guards who can play point I think we are covered there. Being the optimist, I see Washington making a Allie leap next year, Allie continuing to improve, Jess healthly and a better understanding of her role and Burns healthy. The posts are good to go. Plus the new class, Doyle, the Lindsey Moore clone, who I already mentioned. Cayton, the T Laudermill quickness. Whitish and Mitchell, the outside scoring threats and Eicely (SP) the defensive stopper. Can anyone tell me if Mitchell was in the house last night. A couple with a tallish girl with them were doing a lot of conversing with Woody's parents. With Woody being from Kansas, I was just wondering.

Attendance was 2942. Still not good, but considering short notice, St Patrick's Day and Men's NCAA's starting not to bad.

I will tell you how far back that is. Al Maxey played on the team from Indianapolis that got beat by the Huskers in the movie 'Hoosiers'. I think it would be silly for a young team like this to turn down the WNIT. Probably means a home game for at least a couple of rounds. Sit the injured ones if you must, but give the rest some extra practice time and the experience. Might come in handy in the NCAA's next year.

I asked her about the medical redshirt about a month ago. I got a Mona Lisa smile and a maybe as an answer.

Lots of talk about B1G getting five teams in the NCAA's. Ok the top four tourney seeds are in. Will it be NW if they beat Indiana? Purdue, Minnesota because of Banham, Rutgers, Michigan. Heaven forbid if Iowa. If Iowa gets in I would have no faith in a fair selection process. I have no idea.

I think some of Coach Yori's reluctance to play in the WNIT may come from the shoddy treatment Nebraska got the last time we played. At this time New Mexico was the favored child of the WNIT and the committee was determined that NM was to get a home game. But their arena was not available. So we waited and waited and waited for a week and a half until they decided that just maybe we should play this game. So it was scheduled into some arena on the far suburbs of Albuqerque. So the team bus arrives and the entrance road was barricaded and no one around to remove the barricades. So Coach Yori stormed off the bus and threw the barricades in the ditch. I think at that time she said that she would never play in the WNIT again. So we shall see.

I talked to Nats dad after the game and he told me that they had awarded Nat another assist so that she joins Lindsey Moore as the only players to have a triple double.

I like to hear this but I am confused. We just had a story that Nat spent the most time in the gym. Either way it is all good

I converse with Emily's family before every game and I can attest that the entire family, Dad, Mom and sisters are wonderful people. I don't think they will mind me mentioning that Emily's younger sister is coming to Nebraska next year and is trying out for the Scarlet's dance team.

One thing that needs to be mentioned, is that Jess had a team leading 7 assists. An assist is worth two points so she scored 22 if you look at it that way, which I do. Most post don't get many assists.
