....we found ourselves some wings. Enough of the Mike Gesell talk. I'm not talking about this site, I'm referring to both major newspapers in the state today. Talk about group think. I'll give them a pass today because it's his first trip back to Nebraska. It should never be a story again. Gesell is a nice player. Would it have been great to get him? Absolutely. Is he a program changer? Doubtful. As jimmy said in his thread, if Gesell is a Husker, Tim Miles isn't head coach. Miles IS a program changer. Plus, look at the wings we have now (Shields) and the ones coming into the program next year. No way I take the S. Sioux City product over all that. As for the game today, Iowa is favored by 5 1/2. Probably about right. The Hawkeyes have to beat NU twice to keep their NCAA Tourney hopes alive. I like the Huskers today in the spoilers role. Let's get these last two games in the BDSC. Go Big Red! As for the recruit that got away? I got no time left for him.

Thanks for the effort, Scott, but I can't watch it. The 90-91 season is still too painful.... I'm actually serious about this. To this day, I can't watch any footage from the 1983 Husker football season. Whenever that failed two point conversion starts to play on the TV, I turn my head. I had too much inversted in Tom getting his first National Championship. Same thing in 1991. That was the year Nebraska was in the Sweet Sixteen for sure, and with a little bit of luck, the Final Four. ...sigh.... The first cut is the deepest......
