  1. I'm counting nine missed layups in the play-by-play: Walker Stevenson Andre Andre Ouedraogo Mayen McGowens Walker Webster Other than Teddy, NOBODY finishes at the rim on this team. On Edit: That's 18 points. We lost by 17.
  2. Joy is a butterfly, and we have no nets.
  3. We took 27 days off, and we'll play 14 games in 30 days after coming back. I'm cool with that. It'd be great to play 19 in 37 days, too.
  4. Caitlin Clark is the difference maker, and she's showing no signs of slowing down.
  5. I would argue that Bryce will start, and that three of his fellow starters will be Allen, Mayen and Walker, leaving room only for either Trey or Banton as the fifth starter. Mayen and Walker would be the front court. I could see either Trey or Banton as valuable in a sixth-man role, bringing energy (Trey) or mismatch-abiity (Banton). Andre also seems a lock for the rotation, leaving Breidenbach, Tominaga, Stevenson, and others battling for one or two spots, assuming the entire team doesn't transfer, of course.
  6. Purdue 69 Nebraska 65 12 assists
  7. Imma upvote that, your first. Welcome to Misery Island.
  8. Dalano continues to play himself into a reserve role next year when Bryce arrives. And Teddy is establishing himself as a cornerstone upon which to build a competitive rotation in 21-22.
  9. Play as many as possible. In order to finish 13th (the most humble goal imaginable at this point), we need to beat NW and win one more. With more opportunities to pull off an upset, that goal is reachable. Of course, that's assuming Northwestern loses out. If the conference wanted to be creative, they could schedule Northwestern at Nebraska between Feb. 23-26, matching the two bottom teams against each other before the season finale in Evanston. Both teams might feel as if they're getting a nice break from the top 25 gantlet, and it would probably be a competitive game.
  10. We'll sign our first Class of 2030 recruit, and I expect someone to note that he's just two years younger than Yvan.
  11. He's already 21 years old, so he'll be at least 22 by the time he shows up on campus. Lining up talent and depth in the middle. 2021-22: Walker, Andre, Ouedraogo 2022-23: Andre/Keita, Ouedraogo
  12. Penn State beat Va Tech 75-55 in Blacksburg, and Va Tech is at 34 in the NET
  13. My wife's home state university with the funky-ass red-and-yellow-and-white-and-black flag 69 My home state university with the most boring state flag in the history of state flags ever 64

  15. I always toss and turn after a game thinking about what this means going forward, in context, in our quest to be at least a competitive program and eventually one that wins a game in the NCAA Tournament. Specifically, my thoughts are about which players can contribute to those goals, both in the short and the long term. For the past two months, those specific players have been Banton and Trey and .... After last night's insomnia-inducing brain battle against myself, for next year, I have moved Banton from cornerstone to potentially a matchup nightmare off the bench. Trey, Bryce, last night's Teddy, Lat and Derrick would be a starting five that makes us competitive next year. With Dalano, Eduardo, Wilhelm and Keisei off the bench (with an occasional dose of Yvan), we can come close to winning as many as we lose next year in the conference. In the long run, Andre can be someone in the middle who complements Bryce and Breidenbach in building a team capable of capturing Nebrasketball's Holy Grail. Keep brining in some talented transfers and high school players, and ... Now pass me the melatonin. I'll wash it down with this Kool-Aid I have here.
  16. Guess when I started watching? Yep. 22-14. Saw the score on ESPN app and decided I'd tune in. Took a shower at halftime, watched 25-27 turn into 29-36 and gave up. I'm a bad fan.
  17. Is there something interesting to watch on this team? Andre's potential? Defensive effort? And ...... ? Hell, Doc's not even on the sideline.
  18. I'd never really looked at Wisconsin's roster closely as to where their players' hometowns are, but other than Ford, it appears they're all from Wisconsin, Minnesota, Illinois and Ohio. A real Midwestern, home-grown powerhouse. Similarly, other than Garza (D.C.) and freshman Ogundele (England), Iowa's roster is made up of guys from Iowa, Illinois, Indiana and Ohio. Dang.
