ok, so, i reside in sd and was watching the games in the girls state tourney. there were a number of players that fouled out and each time, the announcer stated that the player had been "disqualified". now, i am kinda thinking what the heck that is all about, but, when i think back, i believe these announcers did the same thing during last years tournament.

i am just curious, do the nebraska announcers use the term "disqualified" when a player FOULS OUT or does this appear to be a sd thing? have the "pc police" entered and are trying to ban the term "fouled out"? just like there is a movement now from some nationally prominent ladies to ban the word "bossy"?

"Disqualified" is an official term for fouling out, actually.

There is another way in high school sports to be disqualified: two technical fouls is a DQ... but is NOT an ejection.
