If we hadn't made a coaching change last year and made the change this year instead and if, therefore, Tim Miles had remained at CSU another season ...

I'm guessing we wouldn't be able to afford him this year.  His market value this year would have been HUGE.  (I'm assuming he gets CSU to the round of 32 if he's still there.)

I'm thinking we pulled the trigger at the right time.

AND for all you worry warts who didn't want TO in charge of searching for a new head basketball coach ...

... well, you know who you are.

Maybe Norm, but look at it this way, the only B1G jobs that would be open in your scenario would be us and Northwestern.  And it's clear that Miles was only gonna jump to the B1G.  And apparently Northwestern wants to go with Chris Collins.

With the senior-laden team he built at CSU he would have seen the writing on the wall and felt the need to jump this year or face another building project there.  True, it would have been Eichorst doing the hiring, but I would have to think that we'd stand a better than average shot of landing Miles anyway.

The bigger question is, what if we HAD kept Doc on and he finally managed to put the pieces together with a Senior Diaz and Ubel and Almeida...maybe made a run to the NIT?  Would we have had to keep him?

No, I think it's all worked out for the best.
