Indiana vs. Nebraska Game Thread

Huskers off to a good start.

The umps need to stop this game until the rain stops.  Indiana is making a mess of this.

That last inning is our last 3 weekends in a nutshell.  The bullpen can't throw strikes, and when he finally throws a strike, the guy hits a home run that looked like a fly out to center that kept carrying over the fence.  Roskam hits one that looks gone, and it gets robbed.

This offense has to break out eventually.  If it wasn't for Indiana's 4 errors, we would be getting shutout again.

Now, the umps strike zone has shrunk.

I wonder what our batting average is after the 6th inning.  It seems like we are terrible in the later innings.

Huskers have the bottom of the inning.  Maybe we can make something happen and walk off, or take the lead in the 8th and close out.  Not that I'm all that hopeful

Another IU error may help us here.  It's what we've needed so far.

Anderson does his job.  That's why I hate strikeouts even with no one on base.  Putting the ball in play is an important skill to work at every at-bat.  Hopefully Bunz can get us at least 1 inning.

Bunz throws 5 strikes and on the 6th strike, he gets a line out to 3rd.

If this ump gives any part of the corner to Indiana pitchers, I will come unglued.  This ump's strike zone has done a complete 180 after the rain delay.  Cade and Indiana pitchers were getting every corner.  Now, it has to be right down the middle.

Everitt called out on a ball that nearly bounces!!

Who is this ump?  Angel Hernandez?  This ump has no idea what a ball and strike is right now.  A pitch right down the middle is called a ball to Steil.

We really need to find a way to score and win.

Spence does his part.  We're due for a dinger.  The longer this goes, it's prolly to their advantage.

Gunner!!  He's became my favorite Husker.  Not because he drove in the winning run.  But, his playing time has became non existent, and he doesn't seem to complain, but does his job.

A big win today... for the 6 inches between the ears more than anything.

Bats struggle in game 1 4 - 2 loss.  6 singles by Indiana lead to 4 1st inning runs and defeat. 

 

Grand slam by Roskam in the 6th extends a 4 - 1 lead.  Currently lead 9 - 3 in the top of the 9th in game 2.

1 out bases loaded for Huskers in the top of the 9th, now lead 12 - 3.
