hhcmatt Posted November 29, 2017 Report Posted November 29, 2017 Nebraska Cornhuskers (5-2) vs Boston College Eagles (5-2) Date: Wednesday, Nov. 29 Time: 8:15 p.m.Arena: PBA TV Broadcast: ESPNU, WatchESPN.com Boston College Head Coach: Jim ChristianLocation: Chestnut Hill, MAConference: ACC Nickname: EaglesMascot: Baldwin the EagleLast time out: Lost to ProvidenceTypical Rotation Depth: 7+Line: Nebraska by 3.54 Factors As you can see BC has been hitting the offensive boards this year...something the Huskers have been giving up. Tempo: Shoot quickly, slow down offenses (BC will run 1-2-2 off of some made baskets/FTs) Style: Man-to-Man defense, motion offense, not a lot of 3s. Shirt not to wear: Maroon, Gold, Anything with a bird on it Impress your friends fact: Miles went 6-3 vs Christian when they both coached int the MWC (Miles at Col St, Christian at TCU) Impress your friends fact: Former Husker assistant Scott Spinelli (under Collier) is now at BC. He quit to go to Wichita St about 3 months before Collier did. Player to watch: Deontae Hawkins The grad transfer from Illinois St was highly sought after during the summer as he's basically Vitto Brown lite. This is the guy who will give Nebraska fits as the 6-8 220 Sr is capable of scoring inside and outside while routinely dominating the boards for the Eagles. Injuries: Roby: ankle (doubtful), Allen: butt hurt (probable) Seems like Roby won't play in this one unless Miles gets so sick and tired that he tries to rush him back. Allen is mostly recovered from his tail bone injury that some in our group like to describe in a different way. Miles Presser Taylor Presser Gill Presser The Skinny: The L.E.W.I.S. influenced ball movement has the Husker offense generating assists like nothing we've seen in the Miles era. Even when the ball isn't dropping the ball is still being shared. Can this new Husker offense generate points against elite defenses? We probably won't have the answer tonight as Boston College doesn't field an elite defense...no bevy of shot blockers to discourage the Huskers from making their way into lane or anything like that. Look for Nebraska to continue their competent shooting with the ability to earn points at the FT line available. Defensively is where you need to wonder about Nebraska for this game. Boston College hasn't been that good of a shooting team but have made up for it with volume due to offensive rebounding. Long Beach St absolutely torched Nebraska in the paint on Sunday after the loss of Roby and the foul troubles of Jordy/Dube left them seriously undermanned. Can Copeland play the 5 for this team in a pinch? He's going to need to if we can't get more than 20 minutes out of our centers. It will be interesting how much we dial back our aggressiveness in the fast break in order to protect our rim with guards. At the end of day I think/hope the Huskers have enough here at home offensively to make it past Boston College. Prediction: Nebraska 77 - Boston College 72 View full article Brick 1 Quote

hhcmatt Posted November 29, 2017 Author Report Posted November 29, 2017 If we put up some points against a semi-decent defense i'll take the time to come up with some sort of meaning to the L.E.W.I.S. acronym. Red Don 1 Quote
jimmykc Posted November 29, 2017 Report Posted November 29, 2017 The essential mystery here is why someone from Boston would recommend a chicken burrito as game fare. Haven't they heard of chowdah and lobstah in Beantown? Perhaps someone can prepare some nice corn chowdah (or maybe poutine) for the Eagles to sustain them on the long flight home. Quote

Take it from me jimmy, good Tex-Mex in Boston is extremely hard to find so when you do find it you tend to hold on to it like it was your precious. Edited November 29, 2017 by 49r Quote
