hhcmatt Posted November 13, 2016 Report Posted November 13, 2016 Nebraska Cornhuskers (0-0) vs Sacramento St. Hornets (0-1) Date: Sunday, Nov. 13Time: 7:01 p.m. Arena: Pinnacle Bank Arena Broadcast: BTN (Wayne Randazzo and Shon Morris) Sacramento St Info Head Coach: Brian KatzLocation: Sacramento, CAConference: Big SkyNickname: HornetsMascots: Herky the HornetLast time out: Lost to ColoradoTypical Rotation Depth: 8-9Line: Nebraska by 174 Factors: Traditionally not a team that turns the ball overTempo: Slower, makes you work on defense Style: Not taking a lot of 3s unless necessary Shirt not to wear: Green, 90s Charlotte Hornet Starters Jacket Miles Presser McVeigh Presser Player to watch: Justin Strings The 6'7" 235# Junior is last year's returning scorer and 3pt shooter, putting up 15.3 per game. Even with a nightmare 2-17 shooting night against Colorado, he still finished the game with a double-double The Skinny: The Hornets are a darkhorse to compete for the Big Sky championship as they bring back four starters from a so-so 2015-16 squad. Sacramento brings in a sizable frontcourt that should give us a chance to see how much the Huskers have improved their physicality and size from last year. One thing to watch for is whether freshman PG Izayah Mauriohoohoo-Le'Afa who is expected to start at some point but was injured on Friday. Typically it's the players that the Huskers haven't been able to scout that kill them but given he's also from New Zealand and has played for the national team, we at least know who he is. I don't expect the Hornets to come out so flatly the way they did vs Colorado where they were held to 19 first half points. The Huskers are good enough to out-talent this team if they need to but let's hope that while we're working on figuring out our lineups we don't find ourselves in that situation. Given that Arizona St lost to their opener to these guys last year proves it isn't close to impossible. Look for Nebraska to win this but probably not a complete blowout Prediction: Nebraska 82 Sacramento St 68 with a 78% chance of Runza View full article Quote

jimmykc Posted November 13, 2016 Report Posted November 13, 2016 Other thoughts:1. Jeff Wu is the first player from Taiwan to play for a Div I team.2. Justin Strings is a great name for a basketball player-or a guitar player. hhcmatt 1 Quote

hhcmatt Posted November 13, 2016 Author Report Posted November 13, 2016 Finally got a chance to listen to the Miles Presser...he talked about how playing St. Mary's was more beneficial to the RPI that playing someone who is 250+ In other words, he's adding an empty win for us but doing so in such a way that it doesn't lower our RPI. He's slightly exploiting the bracket building process here Quote
