  1. Did you coach junior high girls basketball at some point?I mean, undefeated, championship-caliber junior high girls basketball? How do you feel about 8 man rotations? What? No, never...and please explain how this is remotely on topic. Seems to be common theme...bring up valid point on fiscal responsibility and get several incoherent replies Which is exactly what you were seeking. Your post wasn't about fiscal responsibility, it was about you. And disrespecting everyone else. Although I did like the similarity to the guy who gets blown away by Hans in Die Hard ("We both negotiate big deals every day. You use a gun, I use a fountain pen"). Yes, I apologize for the AD comment. Not sure where I disrespected anyone other than disagreeing with them and pointing out their previous errors in thinking?
  2. Very, very nice positivity coming out of you. Buuuut ... It's just that your first post was right after our big, huge win against Wisconsin that put us basically into the dance. And you've quickly shot up to 25 posts since then, so you're clearly not averse to posting. Yet ... you joined in January, back when things weren't going so well. Why did you hold off posting until times were rosiest? Darned if I do, darned if I don't. If I had posted when we were 0-4 you would have questioned me too. The truth is that I travel, extensively, and Jan/Feb were exceptionally busy. In fact, I haven't been posting on Rivals much either but I guess I'll go post one there for you too.

  4. In my opinion this post captures the spirit of the "Thank you fans" video...well done
  5. I already regret the AD comment as it just gives you something to pout about rather than actually address fiscal responsibility
  6. Not sure why you guys are so eager to throw other people's money around. Not only that, but many of you guys are the same ones that supported extending Doc. Well guess what? We're still paying the guy. I have an idea, since the fans are so eager to give away $50k WHEN HE DIDN'T EARN IT and dump more money on a premature extension then I suggest we raise ticket prices accordingly. We hired the guy and are paying him money to do what he's done (get us to the tourney). If that wasn't the expectation we could have kept Doc. If he actually takes to the next level (wins a tournament game) then give him a raise. For those of you that are worried he'll jump ship I laugh in your face. He has us excited, for good reason, but he isn't going to attract higher level prestige programs without a tourney win anyway. You guys wouldn't last a day in my shoes with contract negotiations...you give the farm away. If I was AD the program would be years ahead of schedule with millions saved vs what TO did.
  7. Guys, he has a few years on his deal right? Let's not jump the gun and piss money away like we've done with other coaches. If he's the real deal then extend him in a couple years.
  8. To me, it feels more like the Dave Van Horn era. I like this comparison
  9. As luck would have it, I'll be traveling Fri/Sat and not able to watch the games. Is the radio broadcast available via stream? One that doesn't require Flash (only mobile available)...looking for link.
  10. How about the bank shot along the baseline? Impossible angle
  11. Love listening Kent, you're the best too
  12. For the love of it all. First it's demons now it's comparing being a Husker bball fan to doing 3 Afghanistan tours. The first is a lack of understanding of why the program was in the state it was. Naive, but forgivable. Comparing to war, however, is a bit offensive. War and sports analogies rarely work. Many kids never came home from their tour.
  13. It's a net gain of 3 RPI plus a chance at Michigan
  14. A win vs Purdue is better than a loss to OSU
  15. People are arguing this "point" because we refuse to chalk up yesterday's win to "lucky bounces", "lucky calls" and exorcising demons. Rather, how about giving some credit to our coach for his plan and our players for some grit?Miles said yesterday that an article referring to years of baggage hit him like a punch in the gut. Stop punching our coach in the gut.
  16. I only felt excitement, satisfaction and pride in Huskers (program, players, staff). Also, a bit of justification as I've known this was a program that could win with the right coach. I've never felt "cursed".
  17. I got it, and my response was my first sentence .Question for you. The "demons that were exorcised"...who's were they specifically? You said "ours" but obviously Miles doesn't agree with you. I'm not speaking for Miles. I'm speaking as a fan. Then my response stands. You save those demons for you. I'm also speaking as a fan, and I'm not going to blindly refer to previous ineptitude as demons or failure "to get a lucky bounce"
  18. I got it, and my response was my first sentence .Question for you. The "demons that were exorcised"...who's were they specifically? You said "ours" but obviously Miles doesn't agree with you.
  19. The thing that bothers most of us, is that instead of enjoying a great win and moment for the program we are instead reminded of previous coaching failures and then of course a Creighton reference. Miles stated that the references to previous years hit him "like a punch in the gut" Stop punching our coach in the gut
  20. Johnny, at risk of inviting further discussion from you, I have been a fan of this program since long before Tim Miles was even a coach. In his answer at that press conference, he said he wasn't around for any of that baggage (that this program carries) and so don't put any of that on him. But I have been around for that baggage. I've remained a fan in spite of that baggage and Miles' answer at the press conference yesterday does not in any way, shape or form mean that that baggage doesn't exist. I'm not going to pretend away the last 15 years of futility because I lived through it and it was there. Maybe you disappeared and went elsewhere when times were rough but I was right here supporting this team through thick and (mostly) thin, in good times and in horrible times, and everyone on here knows it. You can call it "poor coaching, poor recruiting and disasterous [sic] contract extensions" if you want. (And you have, I suspect, under a variety of screen names.) But, whatever it was, it was outside of my control and outside of the control of any other fan and there's denying from a fan's perspective, we've been plagued by misfortune in this program for more years than I care to count. Until now. The hell with Roburt Sallie. The hell with Jorge Diaz's bad feet and Christopher Niemann's bad knees and Christian Standhardinger's bad attitude and Joe McCray's bad habit. The hell with bad contract extensions, if that's what you want to focus on. Or bad coaches using more than 8 players in the rotation. Those demons have been exorcised. Done. Dead. Gone. No more talk of "next year." We finally have the possibilities and success of this year to celebrate. And if you're telling me that you're adopting Miles' comments and telling me to save those demons for me, you're only admitting that you didn't stick around and cheer during the tough times but that you're a JohnnyOneNut-come-lately who's wandered back now that times are good. That's nice and all. But I've had to endure those demons because I've been here all along. What I find ironic is fans bemoaning the demons yet three years ago still supporting Doc. I will adopt Miles comments because they are cold hard truths. Feel free to continue to try and put me in a box, but I've been a season ticket holder since the "Sit Down Norm" days. Now I have to come the forum to say it, sadly.
  21. Beat OSU, lose to Michigan we're a 10
