be smart with the fouls now---------don't give iowa a chance to turn 2's into 3's
-
dang wish taylor k could drop those 3's
-
huh?????? 62-26?
-
iowa making a run is not out of the question. gonna have to be smart. maybe i was wrong earlier-------i thought huskers had 25-1 run?
-
can't get too conservative in the second half.
-
the crowd has got to be in shock---------maybe even the husker fans attending!
-
don't mess with RB!!!!!!
-
25-1 run by huskers LOL listen to coatney going crazy! keep the petal to the metal! it's still awful early in the game.
-
??? janay morton?!?
-
i believe penn st can be scratched from the list to battle for the double bye----although, even if they had beaten purdue today it may have not mattered. the rest of penn st's schedule is pretty brutal.
-
yep----i get the feeling huskers can't let her go off for 29pts and 18 rebounds again. especially at home. really BTN? Penn St vs Rutgers wrestling instead of huskers vs iowa?!?
-
anxious to get back at nebraska. from iowa's perspective: http://www.hawkcentral.com/story/sports/college/iowa/2018/01/27/following-statement-win-no-25-iowa-looks-keep-rolling-home-nebraska-rematch/1071875001/ like the article states, the return of 3 point shooting meyer makes iowa a better team. no doubt hawkeyes going into this game with a little more confidence after the win against osu.

sagarin/cbn rpi has me a bit baffled: i just checked the standings for msu and rutgers to see where they dropped to after saturdays games--- msu 14-7 sos=37 vs top 50=2-6 rpi=28 rutgers 17-5 sos=28 vs top 50=4-1 rpi=33 i thought they both might take a little bigger hit, but, not sure how msu is better than rutgers? not that they are that far apart.....does that 1 extra game rutgers has played make up for the difference? not that i really need to know just found that a little puzzling.
-
might start seeing the effects of that pretty soon. think we saw some of that the last couple minutes or so of the game. cahill looked rather slow at the end, but, then again rutgers can do that to ya.
-
msu sure collapsed the last half of the 4th quarter.
-
with msu (4-5) and rutgers (5-4) losing today, and, looking at their remaining schedules-----it is going to be a real uphill climb for either one of them to get back in position to compete for that double bye in the BTT.
-
yes, she prefaced by stating such.
-
was watching the indiana-rutgers game. coach williams and the huskers got some good pr from brenda vanlengen. don't know the guy that was broadcasting with her, but, they slipped in about 60 seconds of positivity for husker wbb.

i was coming over to mention the same thing about this team. just watch the various videos and see player reaction!!!
-
10-26 fga, 3-11 3pt'ers, 4-6 ft's i can only remember watching one game where she DIDN'T shoot a lot. ??
-
maybe not with kelsey mitchell. she still got 27. ? i still say they get their "second wind" and finish the season in second. their schedule isn't too difficult---they play at msu, but, with all their injuries.... yes, doyle can get a little out of control/rattled at times. her last two games: 46 pts 15 assists 7 to's 2 blks 3 steals
-
i knew they lost blair watson(?) to an acl, but, guess i wasn't aware of other injuries.

was a little surprised when reading the box score for the osu-iowa game. osu was only 5-23 from the 3pt line and still scored 89. osu only had a lead once according to box score and that was very early in the game. doyle appears to be playing some of her best basketball the past couple games; 21 @ minny and 25 against osu. doyle and meyer combined to shoot 8-14 from the perimeter. i figured iowa was due for one of these games, just wasn't sure who it would be against. the return of meyer appears to be a nice boost for iowa. she was 4-6 from 3pt line. the upcoming nebraska-iowa is going to be a tough one. my guess is they split the regular season games. maryland had the scare, but, maryland has too much talent and frese is a really good coach----i looked at their remaining schedule and i might see where they could stumble and pick up one more loss. watched a couple of osu's games lately and haven't been real impressed with their body language on the court. wouldn't surprise me if they drop 1 maybe 2 more games. still think maryland and osu finish 1-2. then it is open season for spots 3 and 4 for that double bye in the BTTourney. michigan may grab that 3rd spot, but, i could see a couple more losses for them. the team that intrigues me for a final push would be minny----they have such offensive potential i could see them entering the fray for that double bye. going to be an interesting final few weeks.
-
agree with much of what redsteve stated. as much success as the huskers have had so far (or not, clemson and michigan?) i can't help but wonder if they might hit that wall. if someone said i had to make a prediction for the rest of the season, i would say huskers end up 10-6 and just miss out on the double bye for the big ten tournament. they may need a pretty good run in the tournament to pave a path to the ncaa tourney----who thought it would even be in the discussion this season.

i was told by a friend that the minnesota players wear heart monitors during games. so was doing a little digging. came across these comments from Ralph Petrella who is responsible for Gophers wbb sports performance. not exact quotes, but, this is what i found from an interview. minnesota players wear heart monitors during the games. he has a computer that allows him to check each monitor throughout the game. this helps set goals for expending energy. the monitors also check a number of different items beyond heart rate. i imagine what this all comes down to is trying to reduce or limit a player from reaching that fatigue point where they may elevate their risk for injury. my how things have changed since i participated.
