  1. heard madi simon, jess shepard and lanie were all present at the camp, but jess was in a walking book and didn't play; and simon had a hurt back and only did some drills. I think Lanie scrimmaged with the team and maybe some other recruits that were in town but not sure who. I haven't heard any reports on how lanie did, or how the two freshman that are on campus have been doing in drills and scrimmages.
  2. anybody know what recruits, if any, are in town for elite camp the last few days?
  3. my spelling/typing stinks. just read my post and realize I can't spell "hear" right. Also typo in title. meant to say "Any news on ....." I hope our Kansas recruits are smarter than me. smile
  4. Anybody here how summer workouts are going or if they have even started yet? Am curious how the returners are developing; and how the two new kids who are on campus are doing so far?
  5. Norm - honestly I would be surprised if they take anybody else this year so they have 4 scholarships left for the following year 2016. Reality is, mostly likely in next year or two 1 or more will transfer also. That is just the nature of high level d1. the rotation won't exceed 8 1/2 kids most likely in conf. play. that means 3-4 kids who came expecting to play next year won't get in much. kids and their parents aren't patient in today's world and don't like to sit. That said, if they get a talented kid whether it is a big or guard I think they would take one more and let it sort itself out.
  6. I haven't seen the video dlrrk, but I have seen her in person. She is a really nice young player who has a ton up upside. I like how she passes, takes charges, etc. and does all the little things that win games. great intangibles. Her offense will continue to get better and better as she gets older.
  7. tyler Johnson is good enough that if she wants to come I would be surprised if nu doesn't take her still. that said, my gut says she is a ku lien.
  8. With an all conf. guard in Theroit who is a jr next year; and a guard as highly regarded as Natalie Romeo it is going to be hard to get another high quality pg for a couple years. Kids of the caliber NU wants don't want to sit for a couple years. I am guessing that cincore, chandler and the walk on are the 3rd-5th string pgs for a couple years (obviously cincore and chandler will also play some 2/3). the mobile wings nu has like the pages, maddie simon, etc provide enough capable ball handling to provide some pressure release if a 3rd string pg needs help. kind of like Hallie sample handled the ball a lot this year to take some pressure off Rachel always having to bring it up since Rachel needed to save energy with minimal subs and they needed Rachel to have a scoring role.
  9. By my count you got them all listed. Blackburn is in Prospect Nations top 60.
  10. Johnson would likely project to a 4. too short for a 5, but can shoot the 15 footer well.
  11. They are both really good. I have seen them both a lot of times. They compliment each other very well. They are big strong kids who have been taught good skills.
  12. Word around the Topeka area is that Lanie Page committed to NU this weekend. I am sure that should fire up the board and the big red nation.
  13. may not use them all though because then they would only have 2 each of the following 2 years I think. Class sizes would be getting a bit out of balance.
  14. Both Rachel and Tyler Johnson are 2015 hs grads. They are the same grade as Lanie Page.
  15. Birds -- the Johnson girl is really good and I like how they both play. They compliment each other very well. I don't personally know where the Johnson girl will end up but I have heard Nu is on the short list of 4 or 5 schools along with ku, ou and others.
  16. I have seen her play a bunch. she is really good. I would think almost every school in the country would be at least sort of interested. She is a proven all conf. type player.
  17. I confirmed with a pretty good source that it is true. I mentioned her on here for the first time a while back. I think Nu fans will love her. She is a tough kid who should be a great player for the huskers. Have more Ks kids than Nebraska kids in a couple years. If Lanie jumps on board NU could have 4.
  18. Is this the largest recruiting class NU has had? 6 incoming freshman and 1 jc kid makes for a huge class. There will be a lot of teaching in July and the fall. Hopefully the fans can be patient and understand that over 50% of the roster will be new, and even though the potential will be great, it will take time for Page, Natalie, etc to transition to college bball at the highest level. They will have moments where they shine, but may have a few growing pains along the way. That is part of the fun watching the journey as they develop. -- The transition should be eased by the fact that we have 4 returning starters. I am sure they will really help mentor the new kids.
  19. Board has been a bit slow so: 1) happy birthday to Kaylee page today; and 2) The KBCA all star game location has now been set for Kansas Weslyan University in Salina on June 28. Anybody have any info on who the new asst coach might be; or when we can expect an announcement?
  20. Kayle Paige and Emily Wood will play in the ks coaches assoc. all star game in late june. They are on opposite teams I think. I believe it is the last Saturday in June in either Salina or Mcpherson ks. It used to be held in Topeka but they moved it this year.
  21. Rockbridge hs in Columbia is incredible. They go to the big club tourneys in the summer with their hs team, and compete with the best club teams in the country and do fine. They don't win the tourneys, but they don't embarrass themselves either. They win more than half their games. Besides the two kids listed they have a 3rd kid who has committed to play for KU; and another who is going to play volleyball for KU (she is still a very good hs bball player and could play at a lot of schools). They are one of best hs teams in the country. Sophie Cunningham could play for any team in the country. She has a great motor and swagger about her.
  22. Not positive, but I think Lanie Page's official visit to NU was last weekend.
  23. sorry. hit sent without editing properly on last post. meant to say Lanie, Rachel Blackburn and Tyler Johnson all played well, and that lanie's dad jim coached the team.
  24. Mo-kan elite that lanie page is on did well in Chicago. Their team is loaded. They went 4-1 in the top division. Lanie, Rachel Blackburn and Tyler Johnson all played well and that.
