On fuckiin fire today. Got in with under a minute left in 1st quarter down 3 or 5. Played the rest of the 1/2 and went 6-6 with 4 3s for 16 points and they are now up 15 at half.

Not sure how the FIBA press conferences work with respect to who joins the coach to take media questions but it was Kesei for Japan. Markkenen didn't join for Finland so assume team picks who attends instead of FIBA request. Interesting if Japan picks Kesei to do it. I guess they don't want the big white American center to do it and that makes sense. But the little point guard had a monster 4th quarter too. English questions early but last 1/2 of Japan press conference in Japanese so good luck with that. Still can't believe how few minutes he got against Germany and only 5 in first half today. Hope he gets more against Australia.

Over the last 16 games last season, starting with the Illinois home game January 10th, Kesei basically played 25+ minutes a game. Conveniently he took 100 3 pointers in that 16 game stretch and made 42. So he attempted 6.25 3's a game. I'd love to see him get to an average above 7 3 attempts a game, especially in conference this year. Penn St had 2 guys in Lundy and Funk average 7 3 attempts per game in conference last year so surely we can get our best shooter that many looks.

Hiroo scored team high 20 today and was 6/14 from 3. Started and played 21+ minutes (3rd most). Beat Angola 75-65. Two more friendly's vs France early Thursday morning our time and Slovenia early Saturday morning our time. Luka supposed to play for Slovenia Saturday but didn't play against US 2 days ago for precautionary reasons. Japan played New Zealand in a friendly today. Neither Webster played. Kesei started and lead the team in scoring with 13 points but only played about 13 minutes. His brother, Timmy scored 25 for Utah last night in their upset of Kentucky. He's likely going to be all PAC-12, averaging 21 points a game. Was on the all-Freshman team last year.

Wish we hadn't traded Mika Adams-Woods to Cincinnati for Samari. Didn't play much their first five games but started tonight and they beat a ranked Tennessee team. Over the last 6 games he's averaging about 24 minutes game and just over 9 points/game shooting over 60% from the field over 50% from 3 and over 85% from FT. Don't know if he'd have had more luck cracking our lineup than Samari but he's doing well.

Signs with West Virginia as his mom is losing battle with cancer Can't cope with her death without the dope, decides he has to leave West Virginia and get back to the structured, disciplined environment he had at Boys Town so comes back to Omaha to be near that support group. Neither Nebraska nor Creighton are interested. Gregg Marshall advised not to take the risk on him but meets him and gives him the chance and is overly impressed by his desire and leadership skills. Optimistic about future with the team but this is obviously before the domestic violence incident that lead to him leaving Wichita St On a side note, his brother Timmy is averaging just over 20+ points a game at Utah and was Pac-12 player of the week last week.

He plays for the 11th grade All Iowa Attack Red team which most places call 17U (he plays up 2 levels). They are playing in Council Bluffs this weekend so I assume he will be here.

Jervay picked up 2 fouls in the first 4 minutes of that game. One of there other scorers, Dru Kuxhausen, also picked up 2 quick ones. Jervay went back in and got a 3rd right away so he probably only played about 7 or 8 minutes the first half. They couldn't compete without him.

Pretty sure he had 32 in the 2nd half. 11-17 with 5 3's and 5-8 from FT. Think he had 42 for the game with 7 3's.

The feed was a little choppy for me. I think he went 3--9 with 2 3's and 2-4 from FT for 10 pts. The 6'0 tall white guard is Drew Kuxhausen who's from Scottsbluff and is a top 10 all time Class B scorer. I think he had 14 at least. They don't play much D as a team and that is my main concern with Jervay. I think he's a quality defender on his man but he doesn't always give full effort and is not great at team D. But he plays 35+ minutes a game and he might conserve energy on D sometimes. That obviously won't fly here.

There is a game before them so their start time is likely around 8:50 or so our time. The link works though because the first game is already going and currently at the half.

Jervay had 30 last night in a win. 12-18 (4-6 from 3). The game was streamed on YouTube. It appears their game tomorrow night may also be streamed. I just searched for WNCC basketball on YouTube and found the stream yesterday. He's a beast, great handles, incredible leaping ability. Had a great drive and monster dunk. Three point shot looks really good. Only went 2-6 on FTs though.

He played very well in NYC this week at the Adidas Gauntlet Finale. The OSA Adidas 17U team won their first 2 games but lost in the quarterfinals today and Akol averaged about 20 a game. Made 5 or 6 threes which isn't necessarily his forte.
