Hake's going to be covered in bruises after this game. -
With 3 minutes left in the game, PSU has been whistled for 21 fouls compared to Iowa's 10.

Here’s another complaint, but it has nothing to do with the team or refs. FOR THE LOVE OF GOD, ANNOUNCERS NEED TO CALL THE GAME !!! They don’t even tell you who the foul was on half the time, and they’ve even said things incorrectly (one time claiming a foul was called on us even though there was no foul and we got the ball). They aren’t even watching the game! -

Now I’m complaining. We need to burn a little clock and get a good shot. -

We look like a completely different team today. In a good way. I’m not complaining. Yet. -
I can see Maryland getting into the dance instead of us. We absolutely need to win today.

Why do I get the feeling Maryland might win this conference tourney?

I’m also of the opinion that tall girls (over 6 feet) that are also athletic (no matter what race they are) tend to lean more toward VB these days. So what we are left with are tall girls that aren’t quite so athletic. However, I feel there are plenty shorter players with a lot of athleticism, but coaches seem to want length over speed/burst/quickness. I’m always suspicious of taller girls that focus on shooting the 3 (especially if I hear their parents brag about how they run the 800 in track). Major red flag in my mind because it tells me they aren’t fast enough for shorter races, can’t jump high or long enough for the jumps, and don’t have enough leg or core power for throws. JMO

Several of them are just boneheadedness. You can see there are only 4 Purdue players in front of you. Where do you think the other one is? Maybe you should look before you nonchalantly toss that pass to your side. -

Several of these passes are head scratchers, especially from veteran players, especially this late in the season. -

Makes me wonder what our travel routine is. We often come out overly sluggish on the road. I get it, travel can be tough, but after a few minutes, you need to be able to focus and shake the cobwebs off. Hopefully that happens within the first few minutes of the second quarter, otherwise this is going to be so ugly I can't think about it. -
TBH, I am most interested in what she’s going to bring to the team. She has a lot of potential IMO, and I’m hoping will make an impact early.

I'm curious if anyone has any information on this. One thing I've been impressed about with Caitlin Clark is that she doesn't seem to get injured, especially when you factor in the minutes she plays. In fact, outside of Molly D. getting hurt yesterday in their game, I don't recall a player for Iowa suffering a major injury all season. I could definitely be wrong on that, so please correct me. But I'm wondering what their S&C are doing to prevent injuries, or are they just lucky?
-
She looked lost in the very few minutes she played. Bluder yanked her after a couple minutes and she never came back in.
-
Correction - she came in just long enough, looked lost, and I believe turned the ball over. Then was immediately subbed out.
-
Yet McCabe hasn't played today even though Molly went down and is out for the game.
-
I agree! But I fear they may wind up at Creighton. However, did I hear the announcers correctly in that they said they played club with Prince and Williams?

Here's a question sort of out of the blue. Why doesn't Nebraska allow 7th and 8th graders to compete on HS teams? It would greatly help smaller schools out, but it could also help out larger schools. When I was a senior in HS (many years ago, small school), we literally had 7 girls out for HS basketball. When my daughter was in HS (class A school), they were short on players and many played on 3 teams (varsity, reserve, and I can't remember the other names of the levels but there were 4 total and kids pulled at least double duty so the school would have enough to play). And here's another thing - add the damn shot clock.

I'm sitting here watching Scoggin play for UNLV tonight. She's a solid player. UNLV should make the NCAAs this year.
