  1. Moving on. Nice to see the bench come in and hit free throws at the end.
  2. When's the last time the Huskers shot it really well? Penn State?
  3. Noah getting the tweet shout on the air from Matt.
  4. Yes sir. I think you're right...warming up a bit now.
  5. Got a nice video feed from espn.go.com. And yes, sloppy play turning it over and missing bunnies so far.
  6. GBR! Listening to Matt and Jeff.
  7. Very valid point. Purdue reports 8.5k per game (7th nationally). I'm watching their first round NCAA tournament game vs. Akron right now and there's maybe 6k. Probably closer to 5k.
  8. Nebraska averaged 6,100 fans per home game this year, and that was under some crazy start times (like 6 p.m. on a Monday or during the AFC Championship instead of 7 p.m. on a Friday for volleyball). The fans are already there. Yes, the women's games have pretty good attendance. Especially if you compare it to women's games nationally. I believe the Huskers are in the top 20 in attendance. http://web1.ncaa.org/app_data/weeklyrpi/2013WBBattend1.html My point was to compare it to another Husker women's sport (volleyball) and Huskers men's basketball. Volleyball was a sell out all season (and led the nation in attendance) and so were men's basketball games (sell out). Is it possible to catch mighty Iowa State and Tennessee? I think so.
  9. True. It can, and I think will, continue to grow. Just not zero to speedometer pegged like the men's support did. It'll take National Title-type years to do that for women's hoops. That was my (poorly written) point. *I edited out the "everyone likes a winner" line in my post. Not needed, distorted my point (I think). To take the point that Gene is trying to make IMHO a little farther. For instance when The field of 64 were announced CBS went through each team where on ESPN it was like they didn't really want to be doing the show. they would do one region all at once, Instead of each team. That was very poorly done on espn's part. Maybe CBS needs to take it over. It to me the women in all sports take second fiddle to the men. But I also realize that the men pay the bills for the women Yes, the women's field of 64 show was really poorly done. CBS did a fantastic job on the men's side. The cool thing is that I believe that there's two women's sports that COULD eventually remain profitable at Nebraska. Maybe the volleyball team already was? If the women's volleyball team was able to be profitable this last fall, they'd join Hawaii as the only other volleyball program able to do this. Think about how long it's taken for them, and the amount of success/support it took for that to happen. I'd be willing to bet that if Nebraska were eventually able to get two women's programs in the black, Nebraska would be the only school in the NCAA to do so. A bit OT with the VB references, but I believe it speaks to Husker fans willingness to support women's sport.

  11. A couple fans are feeling all bleeding-heart, holier-than-thou, butt-hurt because fans, students and everyone in general doesn't support the ladies like they did the men this year. It's just really hard to make women's basketball cool/hip for most people. Most just don't care about Husker women's sport, unless it's volleyball. Including female fans. If Connie were to build it up good enough to win a NCAA title and contend for a couple more, it will happen. I'll be here watching either way. GBR!
  12. Watched the final game. Go Yotes! Shout shout for Amy Williams and a couple Nebraska girls on the team. Didn't get to see the SDSU win...oh MY!
  13. I love that region. Favorable IMO.
  14. Got it done, Theriot gets the deserved MVP.
  15. So happy for Havers. Thought we'd see this type of performance next year, so glad it's now! And how chill was she...saw her take some shots bordering on cheap and she didn't even flinch. Just took it to them. Fun listening to the radio crew call, as usual. Jeff really hits my funny bone. And tomorrow we get some more and then Kent and Matt later in the men's game. I'm really enjoying Husker basketball right now. What a great time to be a fan.
  16. Havers with some great minutes. Team playing well.
  17. The turnovers really have me SMH. Pretty careless/soft with the ball.
  18. I'd say we should always cheer for Iowa to win, when they're not playing Nebraska. Because Yori seems to have Bluder's number, Bluder should coach Iowa forever.
  19. First two in second round could be upsets. Iowa just took lead on Purdue. Love this time of year.
  20. Expected better minutes from the bench this season. Not there. Here's hoping they get their legs back.
  21. They're dragging.
  22. For those who may not have seen this.
  23. This struck a nice chord. Good stuff.
