Love our team.

Friends, that was a thing of beauty. Go Huskers!
-
Over the years the more I listen to Greisch, the more I pay attention. That dude is a basketball junkie.
-
Oh my, Huskers giving them a game! Go Huskers!

Yes, I would think so. Save the legs in the interest of the tourney. Short bench all year, magnified by losing our only real post presence. I like the fact Yori was looking ahead (IMO). Maybe they worked that set even earlier in the year thinking tOSU or another team might force it with dominant play down low.
-
I hear you, my point was that I *think* that Smallwood was referring to game prep for the mocs when she said they didn't practice it. Which could be exactly correct. Which makes sense. Going into a potential game vs. an A&M team with strong guard play and Bone down low, you might not be able to sit back in that zone.
-
If they practiced that set prior to game prep for the mocs then I don't think it's really sandbagging. I'd like to think the staff might be up for a little gamemanship though!
-
I think the turnovers were a bit of anomaly. Moore had the best assist to turnover ratio in the conference this year and I think like maybe #22 in the nation. She had a couple bad ones this game. Maybe nerves? Dunno. Teams bid for hosting and A&M got one. Nebraska will soon be bidding for their own in that new arena, just like volleyball will now that they get The Bob. No more hosting in Omaha FTW!
-
I heard Smallwood say that. The main reason I was thinking that is I'd never seen them sag off in the post so hard in the man. Made me think it was practiced a bit.
-
Absolutely a lot of what happened. Yeah the Huskers couldn't stay in the zone had to go man up. I'm surprised they didn't come out of it much sooner. Maybe didn't want to show it to Gary?

Man defense now...different game so far. Mocs don't like it.

Nice cap to the night after my Huskers losing. Chelsea and Kelsey really played big. For those who didn't delve, the Spirit are a rural team that almost had to fold because of financial reasons last year, now they're champions of the league. I feel like I watched Cinderella for the first time. It'll be posted to facebook soon for those who missed it.

Tonight is the championship. Forgot to update after last game. It looked like Bendigo might be in trouble after the 1st half of the last game as they were down 10 points going into half time but Bendigo came out of the half on a 19-0 run and never looked back. KG23 and Chelsea were both big, both started the game, and KG ended up with 16 pts and 14 rebounds in the win. Tonight they face the Townsville Fire whose main import you might recognize of Gonzaga's Kayla Standish.

That would be outstanding if so. Would be a tough one to win without her making some shots. I think Purdue is going to be tough. That said, I didn't watch or look at box scores on the games Purdue lost as of late so not sure what their issues were. They looked pretty good vs. the Badgers I thought.

I beleive it is premuim content on big ten digital. But iI can try to link it for you. Naw that's ok...I don't have the optional CBS or ABC one or whoever carries that.

http://hawkcentral.com/2013/03/08/huskers-continue-ownshiper-of-hawkeyes/ “You got to the locker room and you see Nebraska with two fouls in the whole 20 minutes … I mean, nobody is that clean; nobody is that clean in warmups,” Bluder said. “You can’t be that clean in a game, there’s no way.” For the second time in as many games, Bluder comes off looking bad in the press. Last time it was because Iowa had lots of games they care about, it's not all about Nebraska. Now it's because they didn't get the whistles. Try out coached and out classed. I went back and wactched her presser, and those comments could be taken out of context. But with the style that Iowa plays what the Huskers did was mild to the way Iowa was playing. She was asked about the physical play not being called. Bluder said that her players were getting frusrated with the no calls, And that is what led to her saying what she said about the foul Discrepancy. Have a link to her presser? My impressions are based on quotes from story I linked combined with Bluder's comments after the previous game as well about the "border war".

Every player on this team showed up today. So fun to watch. Go Huskers!

Shepard's skillset is very impressive, but for her age and size, the body control she has surprised me. Seems to take contact really well.

In my experience, the best place to find the games is via the hometown radio internet broadcasts. I don't think any of them would have video streams until NET airs the finals on Saturday. If someone knows of other options please chime in.

Maddie Simon sat with her parents in Section A. Hannah Tvrdy and Jess Shepherd were there also. I didn't recognize anyone else. Any recruit would have to be impressed with the crowd. I didn't see if any Kastaneks were in the house, since I sit far from where most of the Iowa fans were located. Glad we could make it 5 in a row against Iowa Too bad the Kastanek girls couldn't play for Nebraska but I don't think they were ever very interested in playing for Connie. I love to cheer for Marissa at NC State and her lil sister I hope enjoys the same great success, wherever she lands. That said, wouldn't trade our players/recruits for either.

She makes herself sound really bad with that quote. Even if you try and read it from an Iowa fans perspective it doesn't sound good. I'm so happy Connie Yori is our coach.
