  1. Talk about a weird team. Miami is 0 - 6 at home in the ACC including a loss to a Va Tech team ranked 225 in the RPI. They are 3 - 2 on the road with wins over 37th N Car and 58 FSU.
  2. He has 5 teams from the SEC in the tournament. I have trouble believing that the 7th best RPI conference gets that many teams in the tournament.
  3. Never mind that we aren't able to play this schedule as there are too many games. You take off our three best games. We play 3 top 20 teams in Miles' schedule. Your top team is number 77 on the list, and our only top 100 game. I guarantee you our RPI is better by playing Creighton, Cincinnati, and UMass than it is playing and beating any of those other teams outside of maybe UTEP. BTW, the way this team played on the road most of the season, there is a good chance we lose to any of those teams on the road (of the teams we would play on the road) We jumped from 75 according to warren nolan to 69 for beating Northwestern on the road, and Northwestern has a 98 RPI.
  4. WSU is going to make the NCAA, We are not. that should cause to pause and look at what we need to change. And, with your great scheduling acumen (of which you want us to go to a tournament that doesn't even exist), we were going to make the tournament this year. I think I will trust Miles, who used the RPI scheduling technique to get a team into the NCAA tournament (Colorado State) over someone who dreams up schedules on the internet.
  5. Yes, we do have to go on the road during the non conference, but we also have to have a minimum of 6 home games to make money. One road game is going to be Creighton or the ACC/Big 10 Challenge. So, you have one or two possible road games. Of course we have to match-up one of those bigger schools who have a spot open for a road game the following year as they also need home games to make money. Are you against us playing in the Diamondhead Classic next year. Colorado, Wichita State, Hawaii, Ohio, and George Washington are the confirmed teams so far. What crappy tournament can we go to next year that we would be guaranteed to win that isn't televised? All the games except the 7th place game were on ESPNU or ESPN2.
  6. Let's see, both fan bases are usually energized by the game. I do know it means more to Creighton than us, but it is a rivalry game, whether we want to admit it or not. The Athletic Directors for both teams are not going to let us skip this game.
  7. Of course you said that you didn't understand him taking a bid last year, and everyone pointed out why we didn't take the bid last year. Many of the reasons would be very different this year. We would have home court throughout the tournament due to our fan support. We would have many of our players back next year. We would not lose near the money we would have last year. Finally, Purdue accepted a bid to the tournament so we wouldn't be the first Big 10 team to take a bid from the CBI. I think all the posters would agree that this year, we should take the bid. Almost all the same posters would agree with Miles and company last year declining the invitation.
  8. I don't think you understand the requirements of scheduling. Miami was a fixed game with it being an ACC/Big 10 challenge game. Cincinnati was a required game with the football schedule forcing the game (plus it was a road game on ESPN2). The Charleston Classic was on ESPN networks. Granted, much of the first round and losers' bracket games were on ESPN3, but I can't even find info on the Sun Bank Classic, I even looked at a schedule, and we should win the Sun Bank Classic because we would be the ONLY TEAM in the tournament!! I'm going to guess people aren't tuning into that game. Plus, we only get 10 games we can schedule. With two more games coming from participation in a tournament. So, we would have to knock off 6 teams from your schedule, as we have to play Creighton, another required game, adding the required Cincinnati game. We already played 3 other games against teams on your schedule. So, that leaves us with one team left on your schedule or a tournament.
  9. While your down there, maybe you could ask him why he hasn't played since November 30th? I haven't found any mention of an injury or anything that would keep him out of action.
  10. There are some variables with this. If the team we are playing runs a full court press, 3/4 court press, or trapping defense, I would want Parker or Webster playing at point. They take care of the basketball better than Ray or Terran would. Therefore, the team would like this: PG Webster or Benny, if Tai is struggling SG Gallegos SF Petteway PF Shields C Pitchford If the team we are playing against runs a pack it in the lane defense, I would want some shooters on the floor. Therefore, the team would like this: PG Petteway SG Gallegos SF Hawkins PF Shields C Pitchford
  11. like i said I will wait on this. The Bob began being switched over to volleyball after the Minnesota game. Where were we going to play our supposed home games? And, those teams you mentioned had many players returning the following year. We had 4 players returning. 2 of them are averaging 10 - 15 minutes per game this year. Biggs also forced Miles hand, not keeping his nose clean. Again if Miles was heartless, Serge and Benny would be long gone already.
  12. Everything here is spot on, except for Biggs graduating. I don't think that's going to happen so he'll have to go D2 to keep playing. I didn't say Biggs was going to graduate. I said Miles let him try to graduate if he wanted to. Icedragon makes it sound like Miles just throws players out on whims.
  13. He brought in the best scorer since Maric. At least Petteway can create his own shot. Maric needed the ball fed to him. Prior to their days at Nebraska, Berry had kept a solid Butler program on the upswing. Doc had taken Gillipse's players to an NCAA trip and then they went to the NIT. Miles took programs that were awful at every level, and made them into winning teams and NCAA tournament teams. Will that happen at Nebraska? We all hope so, but we won't know for a couple years. It's looking promising. He took a team coming off a year with 4 conference wins, and won 5 games against a better group of talent plus a tournament game. This year looks like we should surpass our 5 win total with only 4 players from the previous coach getting meaningful minutes (2 of them could be argued Miles had to re recruit). So, I think he knows what players it takes to win in this conference. Doc couldn't keep players here, and Barry tried to coach them up.
  14. 1. We don't know the situation with Hilliard. You don't either. Maybe he wasn't buying into Miles system. Maybe, it was a mutual decision. Hilliard wasn't going to get much playing time. 2. Miles knows what the committee looks for in their schedule. UMASS and Georgia are not coming to Lincoln. Georgia, for one, would demand a return trip. Plus, it allowed us to prepare for conference play. 3. We would have had to go on the road, as the Bob was being remodeled for volleyball. We were graduating most of the team that would have played meaningful minutes in the tournament. Finally, it would have cost us a bunch of money. 4. This is just plain stupid. Biggs got a DUI last year, strike 1. He was late for a film session, strike 2. After all that, he was late for another film session. Final strike. If Miles was heartless as you say, he wouldn't have let Biggs stay in school to graduate so he can play at a Division 1 school next year.
  15. I will forgive you if you have other plans next Sunday. I got a feeling that even if you post 150 times, that undefeated streak might be over.
  16. We don't play MN on the road. We have Indiana, Michigan State, and Illinois.
  17. One thing I would like to see on the pick is what he did when we were up by 2 and find Pitchford for an open 3. It seems that most of the time, he just dips his head, and tries to attack the rim.
  18. Northwestern, talent wise, is arguably the worst team in the Big 10,but they play a style that allows them to stay in games, and take it at the end. This was a huge win for this team, but remember to come back Wednesday and play better against a reeling Illinois team.
  19. It's a little harder to shoot when someone guards you. Unlike what we did Wednesday night.
  20. Why did we not play this way in the 1st half? Driving and kicking it out. We are already in the bonus for the half, and have only committed one questionable foul.
  21. We are just giving MSU a false sense of security. If you watched Nebraska play on the road this year, I would just yuk it up in practice. Have a good old time.
  22. We have to push the tempo. They are dictating the tempo. I know it isn't easy because they send what seems like 6 guys back on every shot. However, when we did push it, we had a Shields lay-up and a Gallegos lay-up off a steal.
  23. The good news we have assists on 67 percent of our made field goals. The bad news we made 6 field goals.
  24. Two absolute horrible charge calls on him. Valentine is absolutely worthless. How the guy actually refs NCAA tournament games is beyond me.
  25. That was by far the worst effort I have seen this year (note: I didn't watch the OSU road game) We took dumb shots, again and again and again. Miles' plan of letting them play through this on the road has to stop. It's stupid. This team is young and needs to be reminded to guard the other team, or attack the rim.
