Not that you have influence over any of this, but the basketball merchandise the university offers is sparse and just bad. It's really sad considering our ticket sales are in the Top 25 basically every year since the PBA opened up. If we take our coaches seriously, the coverage of the sport seriously, then why do they act like we're a Division 2 basketball school when it comes to merchandise?

Impressive that they've held on, for sure. They've adapted when the Pac-12 didn't. However, you could argue that the Big 12 hasn't upgraded the talent that it has lost. That's why they have to play the quantity game and also get creative with changing the conference sponsorship name. That said, I do enjoy seeing teams like Houston, et. al. in a power conference setting.

This sort of behavior isn't uncommon at the club and national level in certain parts of the world. And, in fact, we have seen it at music festivals within our own country where people get trampled. To me, my mention of fan control is more centered around access and mitigation. You can't eliminate all problems that happen around a stadium but you can neutralize many of them. And for access, there needs to be better staging or barriers to prevent people from pushing down gates or climbing walls and air ducts.

America is completely unprepared for the World Cup. Field conditions, fan control, etc.

According to a source: While NBA players are not prohibited from competing in the 3x3 Olympic event, they are required to amass 'ranking points' earnt through playing FIBA-approved 3x3 tournaments such as World Cups and stops on the FIBA 3x3 World Tour. As a result, NBA players are unable to commit their time to these events, leading to the nations filling their teams with specialized 3x3 players. It's probably been the norm for most music and sports venues in major cities for the past decade. Unfortunately the novelty hard copy tickets are a thing of the past. Screenshots of your tickets don't quite have the same luster to them.

FOX wants a piece of the March basketball pie too. They're trying to build out a postseason tournament themselves. So this could be more of a reaction to capture more of the fringe teams and dilute the product that FOX was trying to build.

Florida's postseason rally ends in the semifinals. Only two teams remain.
