uneblinst's postgame chatter: vol 16; ed 28- Minnesota

They beat us at home may put them as a Quad 2, but I get what you are saying -
IMO Michigan State should be the bubble team and Nebraska and Northwestern should both be safely in. It is baffling stuff to see, and they always say it is their Out of Conference SoS. Ok, but they didn't win them so who gives a shit? Right?

We beat Ohio State, I would be shocked if we weren't a Top 25 team -

Ohio State is going to be a TOUGH road win. That place is going to be rocking. If we win that game we should be a 7 seed or better IMO. We just had 4 double digit wins in a row in conference play. We are not only winning we are kicking the crap out of our opponents. I would be absolutely shocked if they keep us out this year -
Where do you find this @?
-
When we hit 21 wins, I may throw on the shoes. We have to approach EVERY game like it is our ticket to the Dance. The bracket makers have every excuse in the book to keep Nebraska out. I want to shut them up, and make them not have an opportunity to keep us out. Just keep winning
-
Ok... and Michigan State has 2... and they were just as high before the Michigan win. So I disagree, but I still stick to name on the jersey matters a bit more to NET crap
-
NET can kiss my... That is the dumbest of ALL the metrics IMO. Put Nebraska's Wins and Losses verse Michigan State and it makes no sense. That ranking system is clearly about the name on the jersey

Now what?

Here is my take on this. Michigan is a bad team and we smoked them at home. This was probably one of the scariest games for me, because we lose it we'd probably have to win out. With all of this said, I have to get something off my chest. There needs to be something done about College Ball Refs. I understand that the crowd plays a factor, but you can not tell me that we can be 15-1 at home and 1-7 on the road and 1-0 on Neutral. Something does not make sense here? You can't tell me with a straight face that a different atmosphere and crowd can make a team that has a 93.3% winning percentage at home, has a 14.2% winning percentage on the road and think that is crowd noise I have heard so many people say why can't we play defense like this on the road? Well probably because the Refs are calling a different game. That is not right, and should not be tolerated. We may not be 15-1 at home if they call every game fair, but I feel very confident in saying we have at least 3 more wins on the road -

Anyone that says that has never played basketball in their life -
If they win either one we will be 3 wins away from being in the Tournament. So I don't think either is more important than the other

Michigan State vs Nebraska NET Rankings
big red22 replied to big red22's topic in The Haymarket Hardwood
Nah I remember obsessing when we went 22-9 and 14-6 to finish 4th in the Big 10. Finished strong (outside of the conference tournament) and getting the 5 seed in the NIT. We don't always choke, but with the Nebraska Name on the jersey they place an emphasis on any loss we have. -
Please someone explain to me how this is possible So if we schedule more hard out of conference games and win 2-7, that will negate if we don't win road games? I don't know about you, but I think this metric is extremely flawed With Michigan State being #22 We have wins over the #2, #11 and #22 teams... can't be many team with better wins then that

Peacock announcers after the Ohio State said... and I quote "If the NCAA Tournament was played at PBA Nebraska would be the national champions"... We need to play with the same intensity on the road -
I’m curious. Comparing 3 squads from last 10 years
big red22 replied to TourneyBound's topic in The Haymarket Hardwood
No... Nope 1 - Watson 2 - Pettaway 3 - Copeland 4 - Roby 5 - Mast 6th man - Tominaga The other 3 in the rotation Gary Palmer Williams If one of them get injured Thomas Allen would get the minutes. I'd probably have Derrick Walker in the rotation too, but he isn't in the years you mentioned Shields - He scored a lot of points, but I truly would not have him in the rotation if I had the players above Pitchford - I mean when he was hot from 3 he was fun to watch, but he lacked versatility Rivers - Would not even be on the scholarship roster with the rest Webster - He was very good, but extremely inconsistent. He seemed like he'd could of done so much more. Lawrence - Would not get a scholarship like Rivers -

1 - 2017/2018 2 - 2023/2024 3 - 2013/2014 That team in 2017/2018 could of won the the Big 10 and made it to the Sweet 16. Instead injuries had them hanging their heads and they choked big time. Talent wise that team wins hands down IMO. 2023/2024 Team is very talented, but they have no Glynn Watson to run point and I think Lawrence has been our weakest link this year. With that said this is our best shooting team since the 90's, but athleticism is slacking. 2013/2014 Team was really good, but they lacked a big man. Shields was great but was not a true basketball player. He lacked explosiveness! Pettaway was a beast, but I am not a hero ball fan and he was the epitome. Pitchfork could shoot the 3, but he was not consistent. Rivers is the weakest play listed of the 15 you have above. Webster on paper was great, but definitely never performed to his potential IMO -
I'm just curious on what is going on with him? His height could help a little to give Mast a break as another Big out there.

Banton plays too soft, and no one loves the kids skillset more than me. He needs to take a Trey McGowens class on effort. Without him asserting himself into our offense, we are going to struggle. Teddy Allen may score points in bunches, but is his play what Hoiberg is looking for? I struggle watching his game, it makes me cringe. His lazy turnovers, lazy defense and inability to jump for rebounds are equally as bad as the ugly buckets he grabs in bunches is good. Webster should start over Thor Lat Mayen needs to take the three when it's in rhythm, and stop putting the damn ball on the floor. He needs to be more involved on both ends of the floor. So far I feel we are not getting his best effort. Yvan is definitely getting better. Had one of his better outings tonight. McGowens = Our leader and Hoiberg better start taking notice As far as the game goes I am glad we didn't let the game get out of hand after MSU got up 17 in the second half. I know Allen got us back in the game, but he also a large part of the reason we were down that much in the first place. Last but not least... WE DRIBBLE WAY TOO MUCH!

9/14 from 3 Starters 21/45 from the field 3/19 from 3 I know it is Doane, but are our starters heads in the game or not? Other than Banton not one looked good tonight!
