Yea this one hurts. Sadly, players and coaches have lost a lot of loyalty in college sports. Do you really think players these days even care about the program? My guess would be no. Hopefully we can get someone better from portal.

I'm glad that CJ stuck it out the last three years. He won us a couple games this year especially the Wisconsin game. He is a guy we should all be rooting for in his final collegiate season.

I'm sure Hoiberg had meetings with all the guys today. Clearly Rice did not like what was said. I guess this probably means we have someone close to locked up from the portal who is older, more polished.

uneblinst's postgame chatter: vol 16; ed 34- Texas A&M
AGHANSEN replied to HuskerFever's topic in The Haymarket Hardwood
I was at the game. A&M was incredibly athletic, maybe more so than Illinois. The Husker offense played good enough to win. Sadly, A&M shot lights out from 3 and made some circus shots at the rim. Wade Taylor is unreal. Unfortunately we got a really bad draw. -

What website did you guys buy them off of? -
I’m guessing Miss St., CSU, or New Mexico in Memphis.

Who would you rather play ? We match up really well with Indiana, but beating a team three times is incredibly difficult. Penn State is scrappy with some athletic guards that could give the Huskers some problems. I think I would rather play IU because they cant shoot from behind the arc and our 2pt defense has been rock solid most of the year.

uneblinst's postgame chatter: vol 16; ed 30- Rutgers

Give credit to Rutgers defense. They were all over us. Huskers did a great job of staying poised in the offense. That 10 point run by Tominaga in the second half was unreal. I think were dancing! Go Big Red! -

Why did it work this year? What's different?
AGHANSEN replied to Norm Peterson's topic in The Haymarket Hardwood
The other big factor is our schedule. We had a cupcake non con for the most part and avoided playing Purdue, Sparty and Illinois twice. KenPom has us ranked 69th in strength of schedule which is 13th in the Big Ten. Honestly, we probably had the easiest Big Ten schedule in terms of matchups. I'm just glad we took advantage of it! -

AGHANSEN replied to Norm Peterson's topic in The Haymarket Hardwood
I think a large part of it comes down to free throw shooting and three point shooting. Here is comparison from last years (22-23) numbers to this year (23-24). Last years stats are end of the year stats. We still have at least 5 games left. These numbers are insane. 3P makes: 22-23 - 214 23-24 - 264 3P% 22-23 - 32% 23-24 - 36% Free throw makes: 22-23- 323 23-24 - 411 FT% 23-23 - 64% 23-24 - 76% -

I changed my mind after giving it some more thought. I thought Pope from Oregon State was really good. -

The question now is would you rather be 8/9 or a 10 seed ? I think I would rather be a 10 seed since we would be playing a 2 seed instead of 1 in the second round. Or, we could play a 15 seed due to the number of 15 vs. 2 seed upsets in recent years.

uneblinst's postgame chatter: vol 16; ed 28- Minnesota
AGHANSEN replied to Bugeaters1's topic in The Haymarket Hardwood
That was the best defensive performance I have seen in a long time. The guys were flying around and made Minnesota earn every point. We did a tremendous job limiting Garcia and Hawkins. Gary had a phenomenal night. He shot the ball with a lot of confidence. We easily could have scored 85+ points if we hit some shots we usually make. This team is so much fun to watch. Go Big Red! -

My preseason prediction was 19-12. Right now we have 19 wins and still have four games left. Lets hope we don't go 19-12! GBR
