  1. Don't worry, we will repay the favor come baseball season like usual. Having watched Creighton a couple times this year they looked like I expected them to. One very good player outside of that they are nothing special. We needed some home cooking tonight and a good shooting night. Neither happened. Team played hard but we just don't have the talent yet. Our whole offense will depend on Gallegos who we already know is very streaky. Help is on the way next year. The two programs will look totally different two years from now.
  2. Parker is injured, he was in a boot all of yesterday and the days before. We don't have anybody behind him unless Biggs wants to pull of his RS. Which would be dumb at this point.
  3. Creighton looked very solid against Wiscy, like crap vs Boise, and mediocre tonight. We just really don't have anyone offensively to exploit their weakness. Teams with guards who can drive to the hoop will have success against them like always. Next year adding Webster, Biggs, and Petteway will help out as all of them can get to the rim and finish.
  4. Effort and intensity was there tonight. But we needed some help from the refs and to shoot close to a 50 percent mark. Not going to come close.
  5. The refs did us absolutely no favors tonight. But we needed to shoot much better than we did.
  6. Just wait until we go up against some big athletic Big 10 schools.......... Unfortunately it is what it is. Miles can only X and O's so much...in the end we just simply have very little talent and depth right now. Help is on the way next year.
  7. Most likely, unless Talley starts playing better. And the top half of the Big 10 will have better athletes than Creighton. Going to be tough on the offensive end this year.
  8. Would be awesome if Ubel could make a layup. Unfortunately we knew that if Gallegos wasnt red hot this team would have a hard time scoring this year.
  9. That had to be the worst article ive read in quite some time. Making that article free....do they really expect people to start paying for that crap again? I didn't think big tooth Perrault could make that site worse....but he found a way.
  10. Holy Crap! Hilarious thread. I had no idea I irk them that much that they seem almost paranoid. Also a perfect post for this thread as Creighton fans are still crying over something so small months later. And they made shirts about it!
  11. You're right...Creighton fans like you doublejay/attyalum would have just cried about it on twitter in between tweeting at mid-level recruits begging them to come to Creighton or retweeting what Will Artino had for breakfast. I don't have any problem with what Jones said...he's correct. But like I said, if any Husker player/coach threw a jab at Creighton...the Jays fans cry a river.
  12. Is Talley a good scoring guard though? I guess I haven't been all that impressed with him this year. I think he has the potential, but he seems to force alot of shots. What we need is for Rey to also drive to the hoop along with being an outside presence. Creighton's doesn't have anybody on their team that is as athletic as Gallegos.
  13. Kyle Korver's senior year. That trend will need to continue if we want to win tomorrow night. We have played some good D at the Bob over the years. They will get some open shots so hopefully they have a off night. If we can keep them right around the 40% mark we should have a chance at the end.
  14. Can you imagine if a Nebraska player said this about Creighton in about...any sport? The crybaby Jays would need a few tissue boxes so they didn't get tears on their sweater vests.
  15. Gibbs has little to zero offensive game...force him to shoot the ball. He is not going to out athlete Talley. Like I said earlier, Wragge is a one trick pony. All he cares about is shooting the three ball. He will be a tough matchup IF we decide to keep Almeida in the game when hes on the court...but I doubt we do that. Rivers should be able to do fine defensively vs him. Echenique will be a problem if Almeida gets in foul trouble....if not it should be a interesting matchup with Almeida winning the size battle. The game will be dictated on how the officials decide to call the game...and if Creighton hits open looks. They haven't been able to do that the past few times at the Devaney. Lets hope that remains true this Thursday.
  16. And boom goes the dynamite. This team is going to be fun to watch next year with the addition of the transfers, Biggs, Fullers, Webster, and Hawkins.
  17. Sure....we have what, 8 scholorship players playing? Of course Creighton doesn't really play all that "depth." They essentially have an 8 man rotation. So if Creighton is forced to use that "depth" then they are either blowing us out or are in foul trouble. If Mcdermott wants to add guys like Artino, Groeselle, and Yates to their rotation this Thursday....by all means do so.
  18. Wragge will probably shoot around 9 shots. All three pointers. He is a one trick pony just like half of their roster. The key will be making him go 3-9 instead of 6-9. We will need the ball to bounce our way at home, if so we will stand a chance in the end.
  19. Let me try this again, the first time the website timed out on me. I must say we look much better than I ever anticipated. We have not been playing world beaters but I'm very impressed with Miles thus far and how the kids have bought into his system on both ends of the court. I'm not sure if it will reflect in the win/loss column at years end but everyone has to be pretty upbeat about our future under Coach Miles. 1. Make someone not named Mcdermott beat you- Obviously this is probably easier said than done. Mcdermott is a very good player and will get his shots but id much rather force the ball out of his hands. He is not that great when pressured with double teams. Outside of Mcdermott Creighton is not loaded with talent. In fact, id say outside of Mcdermott both teams are pretty comparable to each other. I'd much rather live with Creighton living with the three ball rather than giving up easy buckets down low to Mcdermott. 2. Limit turnovers- We played well vs USC but had quite a few bad turnovers. Would like to see those cut in half. Most of them seemed to be from Talley who appears to be pressing a little bit. He probably feels the need to score but he needs to play smarter basketball. No need to force shots. 3. Gallegos en fuego- Rey appears to be a very streaky player. Hopefully we can get him on track early and often. We will need him to have another good game because we simply don't have alot of scoring options. Creighton really doesn't have anyone who can defend him if hes on as Creighton is not all that athletic as a team. 4. Ubel and Almeida playing smart- This needs to continue. Thus far we have not really had to deal with foul trouble with the two big men and that needs to continue to be the case because we don't have anyone behind them. I like David Rivers game but he is obvioulsy not a true big man We will have to play our most complete game to win Thursday but its doable is Creighton is not unbeatable. Hopefully they fall in love with the three ball like normal. I'd rather live with our chances with them shooting all night rather than Mcdermott beating us down low.
  20. Dimes, I'm still having trouble this morning. Saying "IPS HOSTING-LIMITED." Just thought id let you know just in case you need to be made aware of these type of things.
  21. If we are fortunate enough to play the in the title next year we would have to hope for Miller to be injured. But as it has been proven over and over and over again in a Championship type setting aything can happen. I don't think anyone expected Texas to beat us in 96', I don't think anyone expected Texas to need a game winning FG against us in 09', and I dont think anyone expected us to lose by 39 points last Saturday. Our offense next year is going to be really really good, if we can somehow get a few young guys to step up on defense we might have a shot at a very good year.
  22. Football. Despite Saturday's debacle NU will be the favorite to win their division next year...and probably should. We could win out next year and still just be okay as our schedule is not very good next year.
  23. That's probably true. It just seems McDermott is focued on recruiting shooters first....and that's not a terrible thing. But the Jays seem to want to fill up their whole roster with them. I know Jays fans were counting on Nevin Johnson(???)...not sure if thats his last name...to provide some athleticism and defense this year and the next few....but from the limited amount of time I saw him in the summer league I was not very impressed. I think the series will start getting interesting once again next year with what NU will add and return. I think the Jays get them this year(probably by 10 or more)...and next year at home. After that it will be interesting to see where the two teams are at.
  24. Id much rather just win games....no matter how you have to get them. Like I said in my initial post...Creighton will win plenty of games this year, their style of play is just fine for the Mo Valley especially because as a whole...the Mo Valley doesnt have very many athletic teams. I'm not so sure the Jays defense has improved, despite their wins in Vegas they let a mediocre offensive Wisconsin team score over 70 points and let a kid from ASU go off. Both teams will probably finish middle of the pack in their conference. But, in order for Creighton to get to that next level that I've seen many Creighton fans talk about I don't think they can keep recruiting the same type of players Mcdermott keeps bringing in. He seems to be content on living and dieing by the three ball and hoping to just play average defensively to get the win. You can certainly win games with those type of players but Creighton will continue to play lack luster defense, and get out played by more athletic teams. But, if they are on that night they can stay in the game or even win by shooting the three ball. 2-3 years down the road I'd like to see a roster of Miles players that has some athletic guards/bigs and a couple guys that can shoot the three ball. We will see if he can get it done.
