After after going to UNL and now I'm in Omaha, when I go downtown and see the Creighton bball players they are legit kings here. What Nebraska football players are in Lincoln Creighton bball players are in Omaha. I know the whole state doesn't know them as well but who cares what the state thinks to these kids. It's not like you're leaving Omaha to go to other parts of Nebraska while you're here. It's just something Nebraska doesn't offer for bball players that you're guaranteed to pretty much run the campus if you come here. I hate it. I did tell Foster when I saw him downtown not to shoot well against us before we played them and that surprisingly worked.

Southern (4-7) vs. Nebraska (5-6) Game Thread

If I'm Miles I'm getting McVeigh, Horne, and Gill in the game early and giving each a chance to shoot. Fair opportunity for those 3 now. Whoever is feeling it that night you ride them out and game plan with them in the lineup till the final buzzer. Then move on to the next game. -

Anyone see the line on this game anywhere yet? ESPN doesn't have it posted -
Miles Just Punched His Ticket Today
OmahaHusker replied to Huskerinexile's topic in The Haymarket Hardwood
I was wrong on this post. I was fed up emotionally and it led to this^ after that loss. I just don't want to live with even the small thought of Glynn being unhappy and transferring. I'm a new man after 24 hours and listening to Miles' radio show last night. Let's get the W tonight and head into conference play. GBR baby -
That lineup would finish at the very least 4th in the Big Ten this year. After watching that game Sunday, a man can dream for at least a couple more hours before the game tonight and this discussion ends.

Could pry throw Akoy Agua in there too. I'm pretty sure that team would beat us looking at that starting 5.

It didn't help you had guys like Nick Gregath posting bits and pieces of the quote on Twitter to stir the pot and try to get listeners for his radio show this morning.

Miles Just Punched His Ticket Today

Exactly. If you're going to play him that much and you realize how valuable he is why would you not start him? -
Miles Just Punched His Ticket Today

For me, Miles punched his ticket when he decided to sit Glynn to start the game. It's been a little less than 24 hours and I still cannot wrap my head around that decision. Debatably your second best player and one of few sources for offense, if he's not suspended or violating teams rules you don't not start him. What the hell does that do to your player's confidence? The entire way he's handled Glynn is upsetting to me. Some kids just need to be coached differently for the point to get across and to bring out the best in them. Obviously chewing him out every time he does something wrong, and now sitting him to prove a point, isn't working. He's transitioned to playing more tentative than we've seen before and you can clearly see it. -
Altman would never accept a head coaching job here so you can just forget that idea. He was looked over by Nebraska and has a passionate grudge against our program. On top of that he's doing very well at Oregon and coming here at this point isn't even a lateral move for him. We need to go for assistants at successful programs (which I prefer) or quality head coaches at mid-majors. I really wish we would've went harder for Greg Marshall. I think we should offer him whatever he wants to come here.

I think you forgot to post the link. But I know what you're talking about cuz I listened to it too and agree. Here it is:

How is it possible for Jordy to miss that dunk? How is that even possible? -

uneblinstu's Post Game Chatter: Vol 9, Ed 9 - Creighton
OmahaHusker replied to uneblinstu's topic in The Haymarket Hardwood
For people saying Jordy is better than Patton....stop it. Just need to emphasize that. I also thought we were gonna take more advantage of them being a sub-par rebounding team. But then I think to myself, are we really at a point with this team that our strength was hoping that the ball bounced a certain way when either team missed? The answer is yes. Because relying on our D-1 level talent to knock down an open look is just too daunting of a task and too much to ask. The Huff/Morrow matchup was supposed to be where we had the advantage yet Cole goes 4-5 from 3 and Ed was almost non-existent. Just a horrible game that I need to forget about. -
You're right. I just personally don't like when Ed gets the ball with his back to the basket because he can get pretty wreckless, especially if they do indeed bring two defenders. I guess I'd rather have him dish it out and us hit an open look but if we're cold then ya he's gonna have to score through one defender or double teams or we're gonna have to drive and dish alot

You've got me there haha

The only argument I have for this is Creighton hasn't run a zone all year from what I've watched, and they don't specialize in it. I don't know if they'll change their entire defensive scheme just for us.
-
I honestly don't think they're too concerned with stopping us because their main initiative is to outscore you. Plus with the way we've shot lately I think they're going to play defense on us the same way they did against Wisconsin earlier in the year. Take away the lanes and make us shoot. For matchups tho this is who Creighton will have on us in my opinion... Mo Watson - Watson Foster - McVeigh Thomas (their best defender) - Tai Huff - Morrow Patton - Jacobson The mismatch would be Huff guarding Morrow, but against Wisconsin Creighton doubled the post when they got it down low, which means Ed more than likely kick it out for an open look while they recover. This is the defense I think they'll run. All in all I don't think stopping them is our main concern. Our main concern is if they're giving us wide open looks do we make them? and consistently? When I say stopping them isn't our main concern I say that because I already know our defense will put pressure on them. Obviously defense is big in this game.

I wasn't at the game two years ago, but if Creighton fans are actually buying Nebraska season tickets for just one game I have to say that is one big power move, as financially dumb as that is.
