  1. (sobs) this team is maddening....
  2. sink the frigging ft's please. someone try to win this game
  3. 8 min drought, on the road, and you're expecting to win? this is unreal...
  4. this is gonna end in tears, isn't it....
  5. are they serious? 20 offensive boards??? good lord....
  6. a tale of 2 nearly identical halves? fade in both halves late....
  7. Oops......well, win some lose some?
  8. Clearly in this conference, you can. You have to learn to win in spite of the disadvantages of being the new kid on the block (conspiracy theories notwithstanding to my friend whatshisname). no ref alive can stop you if you make your shots. i had a coach when I was a kid tell me that and it stuck with me all these years. Make your shots, you'll win.
  9. are we doing nothing but hucking 3's?
  10. hahahaha. no. poli sci, sadly. I've lived long enough to regret it.
  11. Tonight's one of my favorite matchups of the year. Rutgers rejected my grad school app, and I'm still bitter about it, even though it wasn't in my top 3. I just don't take rejection well....;) So let's give 'em heck and make them very sad tonight, Huskers.
  12. damn good music on this thread. thanks to everyone that posted. New Jersey's had an outsized influence on musical culture in the rock and roll era. NYC's "little apple" had all the artistic ambition of the unwanted stepchild. The 70s were esecially good to the Garden State. So not to follow in anyone's footsteps, I'll share one of my favorite NJ acts and one whose importance at the time cannot be understated. They remembered how important the guitar was to pop music.
  13. Oh, pal, it get s a lot worse. If you were paying attention, those were clearly illuminati wrist bands the refs were wearing and I also spotted the Grand High Poopoo clearly flashing had signals to the refs to ensure that the HUskers lose. But yeah, it's only a conspiracy "theory". I'd call it.....conspiracy fact. (runs away)
  14. we only got 4 inches. problem is, we're in Cushing, OK, and that's about our annual average. We're completely toast. It's also about 30 degrees below what my little wildcat barracks hut's rated at. And every mouse in the hood's trying to break in to stay warm. Gotta survive 48 more hours until temps start getting liveable again.
  15. I think fatigue is a fair excuse in this case. like the aforementioned C-word university, you have to D them with high energy, as you do all kick out and shoot 3 teams. However, if you do get out, those teams become very mortal very quickly. But when you're a step behind pretty much the whole game, and what little you have in your tank you burn trying to comeback from a stupid deficit that shouldn't have happened (really, in the end we lost to that 17-2 run because it caused us to burn too much too soon to dig out), you're not going to win. Get a little rest, let the burn from getting your face smacked that badly motivate you for your next trip, and finally get that elusive B1G road win. They're good enough to do it if they're playing at higher energy. If they come in like stoned sloths again, Rutgers going to pound them.
  16. I'm going with the Positive Pollies for this one. I'm gambling that this butt kicking will be taken to heart and they finally get two roadies in a row and that this time they're going to play differently. And it's Rutgers. We beat the Knights... NU-84 Rutger Hauers--77
  17. this is generally where I'm at. this was an unreasonable schedule. PSU people still bitcch about this all these years later. This conference punishes newbies like none I've ever seen.
  18. another big margin. geez, the feat or faine thing is getting annoying. either world beaters or egg beaters. welp, hopefully this can get a few decent games out of them before they return to this same lesson for a third time.
  19. hawks had, what, 6 days of rest coming in and we had our customary 2? I'm not going to get too bent about this one. A lot of temas would've run out of gas with this schedule, and if there's anything the conference has been with us as the newbie, it's dicks with scheduling. This stretch is brutal. Our guys need some rest. Preferably before they play themselves out of a possible top half or middle finish.
  20. they are tonight, and that's all that matters for us. it's super hard to win n the road. these guys are going to have to learn to play at the level that road wins require. They'r enot there yet.
  21. yeah, we're getting Purdue'd. Well, road wins are so hard in this damnable conference. We just gotta recover and make sure we keep winning at home. This one hurts, tho.
  22. This isn't too bad given how wretched the start was. Take a breather, regroup mentally for some D, and take this damned game in the first 5-7 mins. Iowa can't be happy with only going in up by 5 after damn near knocking us out with a 17-2 lead.
  23. it's there for the taking. defense takes energy, tho, and being this winded can hurt that. still, I think we're better. First team to play D wins.
