Game Day Essentials: Game #9 at Minnesota

Would you knock that crap off? It was a post on Saturday that asked what do you worry most about the Creighton game? Guess what? All you who contributed to that thread spoke that into existence. Thanks for the blowout loss! You want to win tonight? Speak positively! -
I'm not going to disagree with your points. Valid. If you really go back to where the train went off the tracks, it was Danny's firing and hiring Collier. I don't care he made it to 2 NITs. He screwed this program over royally. His last year wasn't an NIT berth, his last year was Doc's first. He left this program in shambles. I admire Doc for what he did here. I'm hoping you're not including Nick Bahe on the multiple kids on the Creighton roster. Nebraska has had an historically tough time recruiting Omaha. Go back to Mike McGee. Fast forward to Ron Kellogg, Kerry Trotter and Vic Lazzaretti. Cedric Hunter. It sucks Scheireman went to Creighton. Oh well. 1890 has a tough road ahead. The face of that business is not as popular as he thinks. Just sayin'...

Hey, Matt. I'll be in your old stomping grounds tomorrow. I was thinking about posting signs saying "Vote for Dimes for Mayor. Progress is his middle name!" What do you think? -

That's funny. He also has players on his squad that know what it's like to lose to Nebraska at home. Glass full coach... -

The only line I can find so far is NU favored by 1.5. Not sure it's to be trusted... -

I can still recall, the wheat fields of St. Paul. I was 12 when this song came out. I thought he was singing about St. Paul, Nebraska. Probably not. I've since learned there is no wheat in that part of Nebraska. Mrs. cip and I actually saw Lobo at Pershing. He was good! -

The game day thread goes back to the first days of Husker Hoops Central. What, 14, 16, 20 years ago? It was a big thing for away games, because everyone on this board had tickets in the BDSC. If I'm not mistaken, Huskercwg always started those threads. Home games,on the other hand, pretty quiet. I got the home game threads going only for those of us who weren't at the game. Never had more than two or three pages. Things have evolved. Back then, no one commented from the BDSC. We always waited for unebs post game comments. Here's the deal: For those who want to bitch about timing of the posting of Gameday threads, get a life. I have it on good authority, you have many times beat your wide. -

You should. We could have a month and a half worth of Bruce Springsteen #1 songs to post. Talk about dead air. However, Manfred Mann's Earth Band's Blinded By The Light gives us at least 1 video to play. Merry Christmas, everyone! -

The most famous Minnesotan musician of them all. Not a huge fan, but he sounds pretty good when surrounded by Petty, Lynne, Harrison and Orbison! -

Kent on the radio broadcast said this rivalry is as big, if not bigger then the Nebraska/Oklahoma rivalry. I differ in one aspect: NU/OU rivalry was based on mutual respect. NU/CU is based on hatred. -

The week off is a blessing. It gives KT more time to get that ankle closer to 100%. When I saw the photo of the sprain, my first thought was this is a minimum 4 week recovery. That kid has guts! I think you'll see him come out Sunday with an extra spring in his step. Also, the break gave extra time to prepare for Creighton, with some prep for Minnesota and Michigan State, too. This team will not come out flat Sunday! -
Saturday night. We were at the Water Hole. (Imagine that). Not many people on Saturday nights. They cranked the radio broadcast the second half. They took care of paying patrons. The last 10 minutes we couldn't believe they kept the lead, and then building on it. Kent speaking in a hushed voice the last two minutes is priceless!
-
I wish we had audio of the Kent calls of that game and the Missouri game.

I bet no Creighton player has the nads to go into the bleachers after fans like Carl McPipe and Andre Smith did...
