Jordan Bohannon played in Iowa's first 10 games before shutting it down because of his hip injury, which he sustained last season. -

Who names their child "Klarke"? "Yeah, my name is 'Clark,' but that's spelled with two K's and an E." That must get damned old. -

I would agree on the starting five. I hope Arop redshirts. Burke and Green are gonna have to figure some things out over the last 18+ games. -

Watching Iowa, who has both Garza and Kreiner in the game at the same time. How do we guard that? And they also have Pemsl off the bench. Nunge would have given them 6-11, 6-11, 6-10, 6-9 from those four guys. We may not get 20 rebounds. -

I see three guys who I'd like to be part of the eight-man rotation next year, and only one starter, Mack. I imagine Yvan and Thor can be role players off the bench at 10-15 minutes per game. We now just need to fill in the other five rotation spots: Allen Stevenson Walker Banton AND Mayen? Cross? Arop? Easley? TBD? Further, I get why Yvan is starting and playing now: we might not have gotten him a year from now, he needs the experience, we have nobody else, etc. But keep in mind that he's really the same age as a senior in high school, or a peer to 2020 recruits. Myles Johnson was a 2017 recruit who redshirted his first year. Luka Garza, whom we'll see get about 30 points and 20 rebounds on Tuesday, is 21 years old. In short, we can't compete, but the upside is Creighton fans have to cheer for us in order for their RPI/NET rankings to get a boost. -

We are not a good team. We don't have good players, or at least players who are ready to compete against Big Ten players right now. That was evident against Riverside. It was evident tonight. Nothing will change before November. I am not counting on a win the rest of the way. If one or two happen, awesome. -

Seriously, if any active player on this team, except Mack, sees more than 10 minutes a game next year, we're not going to compete much better than we are right now. -

Pro tip: Don't pick Nebraska anywhere, against anyone, this year. That'll probably cover 90 percent of conference games, and that's an A-minus. -

It's nights like this that make it seem as if the hole is too deep, the history too heavy, the talent too thin for Nebraska ever to achieve. I know it's the passion of the moment, but ... man. We're a SWAC team. And not a good one. -

Still, with competent officiating, the narrative is this: "Wow. I'm glad we were able to beat MSU on the road despite not playing tough, missing key free throws and getting out-rebounded. Thank goodness the officials made the obvious call there with 3.8 seconds left to give us the ball. I'm not sure we could have held on in OT the way things were going." OR "Wow. I'm glad we were able to beat MSU on the road despite not playing tough, missing key free throws and getting out-rebounded. Thank goodness the officials made the obvious no-call there with 2.2 seconds left to give us the ball. I'm not sure we could have held on in OT the way things were going." I hope Suzy says "Thanks" to the zebras after that. -
Maybe I should put this on the recruiting page.

You didn't ask me, but I'd like to see him be more decisive when we enter the ball to him low. Knowing where the defense is on the court will allow him to take it quickly to the rack or kick it quickly back out for an easy outside look for Cam, Thor, Dachon, Jervay, Matej, etc. In short, work on general basketball awareness. I never played defense, so don't ask me about that end of the court. Oh, that's right — you didn't. -

Get him in the program, give him a year to redshirt, and then watch him go as a 19-year-old redshirt freshman. By the time he's a 22-year-old senior, this team is in its third straight Sweet 16. Ne c'est pas? -

Kent, if you're reading along: Just say "Yvan." Your "Ouedraogo" needs a lot of work. Give it a redshirt, and see if it comes back more precise next year. -

Baskets are hard to make. -
I'm hoping we get to 10 wins, but I am not optimistic. That's probably 5-15 in the conference, or a number of tournament wins to compensate for any total fewer than five.

uneblinstu’s postgame chatter: vol 12; ed 12 - North Dakota
jayschool replied to uneblinstu's topic in The Haymarket Hardwood
I hope he's 20 years old as a junior, because that means he will have redshirted. Otherwise, he's 20 as a senior. His birthday is March 22, so when we in the Sweet Sixteen in 2022, he will be a 20-year-old junior for a week or so, but that's it. -
