First off, super happy you’re up and running Norm !   I’ll chime in on the how things have changed.  I grew up in the trailer courts of NW Lincoln in the 70-80’s ( yea trailer park trash ).  We had A/C, but my parents both grew up on the farm and were thrifty.  We’d turn it on 5-10 days a summer and man was that ever a BIG deal when we did.  Right up there with getting a snow day for school.  Fast forward to my first year of marriage.  My parent’s thrifty-ness definitely was still my mindset.  Our first summer as the weather starts heating up, I’m not budging on turning on the A/C just yet.  I suggested we sleep on the couches in the basement where it’s cooler.  My wife was down there for like 10 minutes ( it was cooler but yucky humid ).  She marches upstairs “ if I’m going to feel this miserable I might as well be in a bed”.  I turned the air on that night and have never looked back…thrifty days for A/C were over.    I will add though, I’m 56 now and biked everyday to work this week (over 100 temps & 18 miles round trip).  Do I get some tough guy points for that ?
